Bandimere shut down

Bandimere has been forced to cancel events planned this weekend and beyond due to impossible rules imposed on them by Jefferson county. They had people lined up at the gate today and had to turn them away since they never received a response from the county from a plan for opening they submitted.
Its ok to protest downtown and trash the capital building but do not even think about running your car down the track with minimal spectators.
As Debbie Bandimere wrote in her email to racers "they are setting us up to fail".
They have a go fund me site for legal fees.
This really has me pissed off.

A whole year stolen out of people's lives, out of business's activities, out of the economy, not to mention the costs beyond lost income. People think a business or a person's life can just be paused and then be picked right back up at some point.

Entire sports trashed, not just racing. Not to worry. Dr Fauci got to throw out the first pitch at the Nationals game yesterday while he continues to try to be a rockstar and get rich at it. Too bad he's not a racing fan, along with some of these governors, mayors and health officials. Give them the power to snap their fingers and decide who wins and who loses and the curtain comes down and their real agenda is on display.

Yeah, I'm pissed too. A year of things I wanted to see and do, gone, can't get it back, and I'm not a young man. And for what? Did I mention that I'm pissed too.

I am sure that the Conkey family would like to have their loved ones back. What is wrong with all of you. When the hell has drag racing been worth more than a persons life.

I always thought that there was no cure for stupid. I was wrong. It is all of you who would rather drive on a one way street that goes no where then to help stop this pandemic.

I think that all of you who do not want to obey the common sense rules on how to combat this virus should have stupid tattooed on your wrists so when you turn up at the emergency room you are sent directly to hospice.

Sorry but you can’t shut us all down, if your sick stay home, if your scared stay home. I get that, but leave the rest of us the hell alone. What’s happening in the big cities is coming to your small towns sooner than you think if lock downs continue, those who are not working will become desperate to survive, then what? Don’t try to protect what you have they will try and lock you up then. Sick of it all!!

I care about lives of others and respect their space and privacy. I dont understand why other dragstrips, sporting events can open while some are closed. Dragstrip in Phoenix is closed but dragstrip 120 miles away in Tucson is open. How come? Tucson has very good restrictions and people are playing by the rules. I'm sure the good people in Colorado can play by the rules. Very simple spaces between pit stalls empty, masks, no spectators, every other staging lane empty, stay with your car. Sounds like social distancing can work at a dragstrip and has been proved successfully. So why not open Bandimere? Politics is my opinion.

Common sense tells me that the virus needs a host to survive, that doesn't mean it can live in the wild, so if you're sick stay home. The numbers that the government is showing are crap, there was a young mad killed on a motorcycle and guess what? He was listed as a covid 19 death. You can take your liberal little lamb mind and stay home and let the rest of us live our lives the way we want. If I want to go racing, there should be no restrictions. I served and that's what I served for so that we have the freedom to make our own decisions.

Fred, if you don’t want to race, then don’t. If you don’t want to watch a race, then don’t. If you want to watch a race but not in person, then watch DragRaceTv or D1TV. Easy peasy.

I like my freedom. I also like to practice Critical Thinking...a skill in short supply these days.

Common sense, along with honesty, integrity, non-self serving policies and opinions, as well as actions and restrictions that are driven by public health concerns and not politics and agendas, went out the window months ago.

I'm sorry. People get sick and people die of disease, flu, pneumonia, and a million other ailments everyday, even in my family - sometimes because they were unhealthy or elderly to begin with - without causing healthy people and businesses to stop functioning. Lots of people die violent, preventable deaths in Chicago and other major cities, yet the mayors and governors refuse help from anyone trying to offer help, tell them to stay out. Why the difference in the sense of urgency to that epidemic?

I don't trust any of it. Not because I'm a conspiracy nut. But because I see the books being cooked, the agendas and hurt egos driving decisions and the corruption happening in Pennsylvania. The efforts made to make the crisis look worse than it is in order to justify the response. I expect it's being repeated all over the country.

Look around. It's all political theater. Closing businesses, crashing the economy. They're burning down cities and trying to start a war for Pete's sake. Do you think this is all coincidence?

I predicted this a couple months ago, like others on here, the 3 or 4 liberals on here thought we were nuts.
The Bandimere family is a class act, it is a shame what the liberal's in Jefferson County is doing to them, there has always been opposition to the track.

Its all politics with the Bandimere's. They are conservative and have the nerve to have a prayer before eliminations, promote patriotism and honor the military at many events. This just can not be tolerated.
I wear a mask at the track and when I go to jobsites all week. My choice, but if you want to hide at home thats ok too. Complete shut down of the country over this is whats really stupid. The consequences of that are much worse.
Lots of people out here went to get tested, did the paperwork than did not want to wait in long line before getting tested. Went home and then got positive results from a test they never took. Numbers are all bogus.

I have heard the exact story multiple times from multiple, unrelated places. As well as multiple situations where people died from unrelated ailments or even killed in accidents and death being attributed to Chinavirus.

So we are being restricted, having our way of life turned upside down, race tracks put out of business, the life's work of many people being run into the ground by soulless bureaucrats because of lies, fabrications, and flat out politically motivated bull$%^&? This while anarchists and criminals are allowed to loot, burn and destroy with the blessing and protection of elected officials? Really? And I'm an a-hole for calling BS on these virus restrictions? And being angry? What kind of bizarro world are we living in?

Sure, I'll stand up; I'm a Democrat and proud of it. I served this country for 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam War era on a nuclear submarine and 2 submarine rescue ships. I gave 4 years of my life to have the freedom to support the political party that most closely aligns with my values. The last time I checked, I still have that freedom today!

Your last statement is the point being made. Why cant Bandimere have the same freedom as other tracks or sporting events? Is the location so contaminated with the virus it cant ipen. This freedom seems to fit for certain people while others stay closed. Why cant the city sit down and listen to Bandimere plan for social distancing and make something work. Freedom is for everyone not a select

Re: Bandimere shut down

My $0.02 on the subject and something to think about...

My sister is a Clinical Pathologist and her job is to study diseases and their effects on the human body. Her take is that although the virus has caused a pandemic, it has been politicized to an unprecedented stage. There has been other pandemics worst than the current one. The symptoms are no different to the flu. That every new virus will always hit harder others that had previous health issues, especially, the older folks and it is what happens in every pandemic that has hit the world.

Her husband is a Radiologist and says the same. They work at the same hospital and my brother in law says when he looks at imaging of people that have been identified with the virus, the image is identical to a person that is experiencing pneumonia or a bad chest cold congestion.

A close friend of mine, his girlfriend has been a critical care nurse for over 30 years. She got swabbed, tested positive, did the alternate blood test and was negative. The chief physician at the hospital she works at, ytold her the blood test does not fail and she did not have the virus. She was so upset that behind the scene, she took 3 unused test kits, put fake names and sent them out and they came back with a positive result. She informed the hospital of what had taken place and was reprimanded and told she had a non-disclosure agreement that she had signed and had to follow. This confirms many of the stories that are not being covered by the media because it does not fit the political agenda that is being spread in our country.

We have a right in this Country to protest peacefully and the police force in all cities are more that capable of controlling those protests and enforcing the law.
NYC for example has a police force larger than most Countries military but if that doesn't make you feel safe then you're more than free to move to a Country like North Korea, you sure as hell can't protest there so you should love that!

Do you believe what you wrote and what is happening are the same thing? I would be a great city if protests were peaceful. The Summer of Love district was fair from peaceful. NYC has enough police but are being told to stand down. The result is far from peaceful. Why move to North Korea there are 1000,s of cities in the US that will let you protest peacefully all day every day. Burning and looting is not peaceful in my opinion.

Protest all you want, peacefully, don’t burn, loot and blow my business up, don’t block the freeway so I can’t get home after working all day and paying taxes so you can protest and not work. Don’t burn our flag, tear down our statues and deface are buildings. If it continues going as is at some point the peaceful will begin to say enough is enough. We don’t need that, I can’t wait for November 5th, even if my guy does not win like always I will go to work that day and work and pay my share, and that’s how it should be. John

We'll prosecute: Two chief prosecutors tell Trump and federal agents to back off their cities

Quote:

The two prosecutors said the Portland scenes were "reminiscent of 1930s dictatorships" and promised they would neither dither nor wait for a lawsuit to be filed against the administration. "Should Trump send federal agents who engage in the same illegal vigilante activities, unlawfully assaulting and kidnapping people, they will face criminal charges from our offices," they wrote, adding that their authority under 28 U.S. Code § 1442 was "clear."
While federal officials can remove such charges to federal court in some cases, Mosby and Krasner said nothing prohibited local prosecution of their crimes.
