Pray for ALL racers and families

I am surprised that someone didn't start this sooner. I know we all have been praying for an end to this horrible virus that has the world in it's grips.

It's time to have ALL of us, whether you believe in God or not, to pray DAILY for all the racers that we know and their families. I KNOW that MANY of us believe. I know there are hundreds of prayers being said already.

If we start with racers, add their families and then add all the friends that each of us has that should cover everyone in the U.S.A. Then add everyone else in the world we will have success.

I KNOW this is a VERY large assignment, but if we ALL participate we WILL have a better world when we get though this - AND WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS. Yes, there will be many lives lost, let's pray that we can hold this to as few as possible.

I hope and PRAY that this thread is left in this section since it pertains to all the racers we know and their families and beyond. If it gets moved to another section I understand. But PLEASE let it remain here.

That makes more sense than a whole lot of stuff you encounter out there. I believe two immutable facts of life:
1. God is still on the Throne. He's not getting off of it any time soon.

2. This too shall pass.

Have a better day.

I want to Thank You all for the likes and the hundreds of you that have, at least, looked at my post.

As we go further through this pandemic we need to do whatever it takes to continue our journey. Above all - stay-at-home, wash often, social distance ourselves and PRAY.

I, sincerely, hope and pray that WHEN we come out of this WE WILL be a more loving and caring people. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts.

Re: Pray for ALL racers and families

As it is now the middle of May and things are starting to happen on the tracks around the nation, I thought it was time to re-visit this thread.

I pray that all the events happen safely and with GREAT results for the racers and, most importantly, the tracks themselves.

It has been a long journey, so far, and we aren't though with it yet.

PLEASE everyone pray that only good things will come out of opening tracks so that racers can race once again.

If ALL of us do our part, more and more good things will happen very soon.

We are all going to meet him someday and Bruce you can ask him if he ever had a stocker. He probably had the fastest one under the index ever, probably a Ford! LOL

Re: Pray for ALL racers and families

So an avid racer named John meets his demise unexpectedly in an accident. He awakes at the Pearly Gates and is warmly greeted by Saint Peter, who tells him he has become the owner of a pristine Hemi Cuda. It then gets better as they together take the car to a beautiful drag strip so John can race to his heart’s content. But John is taken back by a long sleek dragster with no markings other than “Big Daddy”. John immediately asks Peter when Don Garlits had passed away because he had not heard such sad news. Peter quickly explains though; “oh, that’s just God, he just likes to think of himself as Big Daddy”.

Personally, I’m very thankful God has a good sense of humor. It explains so much.

Prayer is talking to GOD from your heart in Love . If you dont know what to do you need to know where to go ? To GOD ! HE is the author and finisher of our Faith. HE LOVED US FIRST before we ever knew HIM, JESUS CHRIST. .

Re: Pray for ALL racers and families

This thought often comes to me; I hope in the future I learn what God was thinking when she created the universe.
I do believe in God. As a racer who entered my fourth quarter (75) last year I also believe in karma. I'll explain;
I've learned to never complain about bad luck, because so often I have found when things happen that just don't seem fair, not too long after that a stoke of good luck or call it karma, fills in that former perceived unfairness.
As we all know, this covid-19 is not the first pandemic or plague that our world has gone through. I suspect that when these plagues happen it may be natures way of pushing back to an imbalance in the world. I believe mankind cannot continue on the current path that ignores what nature is trying to do to protect ALL life that we share this world with. We are all connected.
My final thought is this message; patience is always rewarded, and if we can all accept that we need to set aside, for a while, our life's passion, until we find the answer we need to overcome this plaque our children and all earth's life will in the final counting be rewarded.

Chuck

[QUOTE=ghost;614818]sorry for me but, i don't believe in a god. There is too much injustice in this world

It actually takes more faith to believe there is no God that created all of the earth, humans, animals, insects, birds, fish, trees, flowers the whole science and the order of things in this world and how it all works too some kind of accident. God created this world to have NO injustice. Adam and Eve were made sinless, this world was first created to be perfect but they chose to go against God, they had freewill and sinned in the Garden of Eden and from that day forward every human was born a sinner. Hence all the injustice and evil in this world. So to save His creation and not let us all die and be damned forever, because He is a perfect and all loving God, He sent His perfect and sinless Son Jesus to die for my sins, your sins and every persons sins. His death and blood, shed on the cross, covers everyone's sins past, present and future. All God is asking us to do is believe His son Jesus is who He says He is, and that He took OUR place and died for all of our sins. And when we die, we ALL will, whoever that believes will be with God in Heaven and a new earth that He will set up with no more crying, pain, injustice and hurt. Just like it was meant to be from the beginning. Amen! Okay church is over. Sorry my fingers just started typing and I couldn't stop them. LOL

No hornet's nest poked, just his option of believing or not.

We ALL have that option and those that believe in GOD just have faith in what happens during our short life here on Earth. When that life is over we go to Heaven and see our many friends and family members that have gone on before us.

Yes, good things happen for a reason and bad things happen, also.

1) You don`t believe in God, but you believe in Heaven?
2) Everybody goes to Heaven?

Mike,

1. People can believe whatever they chose to believe. The Lord loved us enough to gave us freewill to make our own decisions and choices. It's like not believing in gravity and jumping off a cliff, whether you believe there is such a thing that you cannot see or touch but when you jump its pulls you down, doesn't change the fact that it exists. The two go hand in hand. If you believe there's Heaven then something had to create that Heaven.

2. No, not everybody will go to Heaven, but that's not the fault of God. We ALL have a choice to make in this life and not everybody will chose to believe the truth and follow the Lord. I will but it to you this way, when I first started wondering and questioning whether to believe or not, I thought hey, If I believe all this stuff and I die and it's not true, oh well, I was a good person who lived by the 10 commandments and did my best, nothing lost, no big deal. But if I don't believe and it is true, holy crap, my eternity is in a place nobody wants to be for a second, let alone forever.

Hope that helps answer your questions.

I'm glad you enjoy your religion. And I'm sure there are folks who benefit from it now and then, as a crutch to get themselves through difficult times.

But, in reality religion is nothing more than fantasy theater. All the players get bit parts and play it out as they see fit. But there is absolutely no proof that any god exists, or has ever existed. God is simply a man made fiction that can be used to control large groups of people as Constatine discovered in 330AD.

Bret, that's the most complete and concise depiction of the gospel of Christ I've ever seen.I know you have the agreement and the appreciation for your comments of many on this forum. I was very glad to read your comments. As far as injustice in this world, it has always been that way since the garden. I have to make sure I don't contribute to any of it in any way. That's my responsibility to my fellow man. I can't be responsible for what someone else does, I'm only accountable for my own actions. The evil in this planet didn't come from God, anyway.

No, you said God didn't exist, it's on you to prove it. So again, who created you?

And you are right about religion, it does control people with it's rules. What I'm saying is, this is ALL about a relationship, not a set of religious rules to follow. We follow Him and His rules or I should say commandments because we are thankful for what HE has done and died for us. And the commandments He put into place is for our own good and well being. Just like when you were a kid and your father gave you rules to follow, to keep you safe and out of trouble. Again, it's about a relationship, NOT a religion or set of rules.

MY God is Alive and on his Throne!

In 1994 I was on the way back from the Divisional late at night
with mytwo then young boys. I was pulling my E/SA Demon on a open
trailer with my small 1/2 ton truck. I was on a two lane road that was narrow
with steep shoulders on both sides. I was a new Christian at that
time. A Mazda Miata that was about a hundred feet ahead of us
tried to pass a truck on that narrow stretch. He hit headon a car
going around 60 the other direction.

The wreck was instant and massive. There was absolutely nothing
that I could do to avoid a imminent accident and possible death for
my young family! I closed my eyes and braced for the immediate
crash. For the longest couple of seconds of my life = I did not feel
anything at all. I opened my eyes and my entire rig was a couple
hundred feet beyond the wreck in my rear view mirror.

Feel free to chat with my boys or myself about this incident anytime
you see us at the track. I am will swear under penalty of perjury
the veracity of this incident. I have not related this incident outside
of Church because not many would believe it and probably lock us
all up at the Funny Farm.

You either see it or you don't. That's why it's described as faith. Some of the most educated and experienced people in the world who thought they were so smart stood in the presence of God and refused to see Him. The evidence of His working in history is there to see, but it can be denied by arrogance. Man's logic, science and mental abilities cannot even answer a simple question like "Is coffee good for me?", so why should I think that reason would provide an answer?
