Supposedly was 5 lbs light....not confirmed.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

I have also heard he was light by 5 lbs. lots of rumors flying around at Woodburn. Have not gotten an updated Q sheet from there yet.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

That team usually carries their own scales, I doubt they would send a car down the track under weight. !!!

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Other times in all other parts of the country you come up light and go -1.20 you get hp on Tuesday.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

We will see when a sheet is posted later tonight on dragrace central and nhraracer as to this situation. Still lots of drama going on at the track. Time will tell

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Know a couple of Corvette racers that are rather anxious right now....I have only seen this happen one time in D3..Dan Jacobs was light at the scales a year or so ago on a 1 20 under run and he got hit with HP on Monday....Keep in mind the Sorensen bros. were light at the scales on a 1 20 under run years ago and received no HP on Monday....

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Sounds like the tech dept will have a couple of stock eliminator discussions on Monday. One from D6 and another from D3. I hope they make the right calls.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Well that's a little weird but he's not on the sheet anymore that I saw. Am I missing something or is there some weird "sheet" going on?

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Cody is not on the final Q sheet or the ladder according to DRC.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

The run is still on Live Timing, Q5 10.798 @ 120.53.
This will get interesting.

KThomas 07-13-2019 11:26 PM

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

So what happens now ? If there is in fact a " issue" Is this a one year suspension or a one weekend suspension ?????

Carguy49 07-14-2019 12:02 AM

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Good question. So was the car pulled from the event, or what? Just curious. Since the run still shows on Live Timing what happens???

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

I am getting confused now. Now, I was not at Joliet, but I understand that a mopar stocker 340 auto was protested, refused to teardown and left....

The corvette was a -1.20 under killer run which in most divisions would trigger a teardown.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

601 Cody Lane was on Friday's sheet at #39 with a 12.538 run with a 12.00 index. Live timing Q5 has the run of Cody Lane: RT -.023, 60' 1.383, 330' 4.287, 660' 6.772, 660' MPH 98.41, 1000' 8.942, 1320' 10.798, 1320 MPH 120.53,
- 1.202 under

Nice Run

Will the run still count for AHFS? Or did Cody take a bullet for the "team"? I would have to think Cody was legal on a good run trying to get the first bye. If he was lite on the run he had other runs he could use to get him on the sheet. If something was wrong it should show as a DQ on the sheet. We will have to tune in to NHRA Racer.Com to find out what happened in D3 and D6.

Is their extra terrestrial activity in Woodburn? Is there another Bermuda Triangle that isn’t well known? Things seem to be disappearing. Be careful out there guys and gals.

Watching the live timing and he was back on the ladder in the #3 spot for eliminations.

What a joke. Here is one fact that is about this race. Div director is not there or our head tech guy. Mike rice is running this race. So if you want to run fast and not get hp come to div 6. Toss your weight out at the end of the track. NHRA has lost alot of respect from its customers over this in div 6. There should have been hp given, tear down and a time out but nothing. I can already hear all the excuses by both parties. Very simular at final race of last year get caught with to big of carb at CIC race and nothing happens. This is embarrassing.

If a racer runs well, say 1.202 under, and he doesn't want to get penalized, can he just pass the scales by, then earning a DQ for that run?

You are subject to disqualification from the event, not just the run. The way the rule reads (paraphrazing) “all qualified runs are subject to post race inspections (scales, fuels, etc.). Failure to do so can result in disqualification from the event.”

Larry Hill 07-14-2019 02:38 PM

Re: Horsepower on tuesday

Tony I don't think that would flush in any Division.

These guys have hooked up with Chevrolet and a group of engineers to bring a 750 hp electric car into Stock Eliminator. They apparently aren't worried about how the game is played as long as it works for them.

Jeff Lane has always run a first class program. Would reserve judgment until more is known....

Cody's into R4. If he wins I'm sure that will add to the controversy.
