Since I have NHRA.TV (All-Access to me) I haven't bothered with the Fox show. Maybe once in a very great while. I did tune in last night to the re-air, that show was unwatchable! You can see the "stretching" they do, how many replays do you need of unfortunate crashes and blow-ups? (I've noticed they are part of their video advertising though). Over-hyped for sure and of course no P/S. I do miss Brian Lohnes on All-Access.

I enjoyed the FS1 Pro Stock coverage, but would have been great to see the sportsman final round coverage.Just Saying

Why would I waste my precious time watching an all Camaro show , watching drivers who never turn a wrench ………race in a class that’s dead or dying anyway.
So NO , I won’t be watching….I have nostalgic ( 70s thru early 90s )YouTube videos if I want to watch REAL Pro Stock racing.

All of the classes that NHRA is trying to bury have their own show, sportsman classes included. I'm sure you already knew that. Pro Stock was just the newest class to be kicked over.

I am glad that there is a ProStock only show to watch. I spend most of my time fast forwarding to watch ProStock on the normal FS1 coverage anyways.
Thanks, RonP.

I watched, I liked it, but I like everything drag racing. I'm sure the programming will migrate closer to Sunday eventually.

Not true there a number of pro stock racers that build motors and turn a wrench on their cars.Jason Line,Chris McGaha,Alan Prusiensky,Greg Anderson and Matt Hartford just to name a few.

I watched and had some new content. In car with jeg was good.

The take it to the track part was the worst edited piece. I liked the idea but delivery was bad. It was supposed to get new comers involved and I showed it to a friend who never was at a dragstrip and they were totally confused.

2nd, show sportsman, maybe Bo;s fiance incar from getting in car to finish line.

On that thought, how about Jeg in car, climbing into car, racing and getting out,

True , maybe I should have "rephrased" that.....to , BUILD their own engines , like Warren , Bob , RMS , Iaconio , Morgan and so on....
.

I think you would only have to drop Matt Hartford off the list, the rest build engines.

Other than already knowing the outcome, I enjoyed the show. Lohnes and Bruno were great together, and there wasn't any waiting for the fuel cars to get through. I never watch the Fox Sunday shows, but I will definitely be watching the Pro Stock show every time it airs.

Are you SURE? Either way , as long as its an "all CAMARO" class it will NEVER recapture the appeal of the days gone by. Might as well be a "spec" class. I'll watch Pro Mod LONG before I'll watch Pro Stock.

I think you are correct about him building his own motors because he leases his motors from Elite Motorsports, but he does wrench and maintain these motors at the races. He is more than just a driver like some we all know.

IF NHRA really wanted people to watch the show,it should have been aired following the fuel show. I recorded it and got a half hour of ball and a half hour of Pro Stock 😫

I purposely record everything like this for an extra hour. Got tired of missing the end of things.

I thought the show was good I tried hard not to see results before I watched it.

Joe is evidently not aquatinted with actual Pro Stock racers. Way off base.

I guess the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction in the last 10-15 years. Over the years I'd noticed there were enough teams ( drivers ) that didn't? In other words , at one time the "drivers" WERE the engine builders.
Probably stems more from my lack of interest in Pro Stock now , a class I once "loved" ........http://classracer.com/classforum/images/icons/icon7.gif

I, also, don't have anywhere near the interest as I once did. I have followed and have many books on Pro Stock on the subject. At one time (70's) Pro Stocks ran at Divisional races and were very plentiful. I believe at one time there were 36 Pro Stocks just in Division 6 alone. That number might be off 1 or 2.:):)

The Dragzine Newsletter has a more detailed story on the FS1 Pro Stock show for those that are interested. For the life of me, I can't understand why drag race fans *itch about what little TV coverage that we do get. This is a big step in the right direction to help Pro Stock.

Hopefully they do something similar for FS/XX too, then I can spend time watching the classes I am most interested in.

Thanks, Ron

Really? You think screwing the Pro Stock racers and their sponsors out of actual race day coverage will HELP them?

It may not be a big deal to some, but I had the chance to see Erica Enders wrenching the spark plugs on her car at Pomona last month, so props to her for blending perfume with 30wt oil (so to speak)!

But I thought this was to get the fringe casual viewer interested? If they tune in on the scheduled time and aren't interested in basketball they're going to say F this and not watch at all!

I'm pretty sure the coverage they were getting ON raceday wasn't helping much.
