We are back on the road again !! We should be there Wed afternoon ! Driving as far as Knoxville today and having dinner with some old friends then getting to stacking tomorrow afternoon ! Y’all let us know what is happening there!

Hey Patsy,

We are already in the stacking area. It opened today, and they will be pulling us in Thursday morning. Its a little muddy in the stacking area, but if you say on the paved parts you will be okay, lots of rain last night. The sun is trying to come out and we had no rain today.

So much for no rain today, within about 20 minutes we just had about an inch of rain, It looks like a another cell is about hit us again.

Well guys I can tell you that we had rain nearly all day here to the east. Some areas had as much as 5" locally from this storm, I will be glad to head west on Thursday. The bright side is that the weekend looks to be awesome with only slight chance of rain each day with very comfortable temps in the low 70's with morning temps in the low 50's for those first qualifying runs. It may be just good enough to get someone in trouble again this weekend!
As I said earlier I plan to be there mid afternoon on Thursday so you know where you can find me pitted so stop by and say hi. On a side note, Jimmy Buffett is playing Friday night at the Pavilion just down the street from the track and I have a few extra tickets so if anyone is interested hit me up.

The rains have finally stopped and it has turned out to be a nice day. Parking starts tomorrow, the holding lot has about 60 rigs as of now. Not much to report, its a good time to take on some motorhome maintenance.

Well we got here about 11 this morning and have spent all day getting caught up with everyone . Went out with a great group to Razoos Cajun Restaurant tonight for a good dinner. As we came back to Stacking, we saw that this lot is full and they have started a new place before you get to where we are! And anyone who is familiar with how we get to the track from here, it is flooded! So I guess we will find out in the morning how to go!

Parking begins at 7 in the morning!

Cooter, the schedule shows parking til 5 today and I haven’t heard anything different !


We are in and parked! We are at B12 on the paved side. The FS/XX cars are in the area where Roy Hill always parks.

Butch, I am not sure what side Stock and Super Stock will run, but we always run on the same side.

We all got parked in timely manner, good job Dan, and the rest of the parking crew. As for credentials, not so good. If you did not get in line for your credentials early you had a long wait.

I did find a few cars out, but it just started to sprinkle, so I don't think there will be many out working on there cars today. The weather for the rest of the week and weekend looks good, start time tomorrow is 8:30 with stock out first.

Well today we have just got ready for tomorrow ! We go out 1st at 8:30. Super stock runs class here. They get 1 run then start class. Stock gets 2 runs tomorrow then 3 rounds on Sat. for Stock and Super Stock!

We got parked and set up, didn't make registration yet but will get that in the morning. We got out and did a little visiting then around 6:30 the skies opened up and it has been raining ever since, sometimes quite hard. Looks to be still a couple hours of rain to come, with cool temps tonight an 8:30 start may not happen.

Its about .013 slower than Virginia and will be much slower later today.

Stock and Super Stock are done with Q1. The track was a little slick for some. I heard Mike Cotten had some traction issues in Stock, Super Comp cars was a little loose. My Cobra Jet was also skating down track.

The weather for Q1 Stock was 62 with a DA of 1600ft. Here are a few shots of Super Stock Q1. I don't think I will have time for Stock on the race track, but I will do my best.

Well I guess everyone knows by now that the schedule is totally rearranged! Super stock class winners are based on higher qualified in Q1. All the rest of sportsmen get their Q2 run after 8 tonight after the second round of Pros! Sure screwed up dinner plans!! The problem today has been water seeping on the track! And it is still happening! On our run this morning Larry about took out the tree. The starter wanted to give the first 3 pairs another run, but Rich Schaefer would not allow it! The left lane was still bad whenever the FS/XX cars went down a few minutes ago. #1 was Joe Welch at 8.08 @ 173!!

Sorry for the lack of reporting on my part I had an issue on the first run this morning and had the privilege of signing the oil down policy sheet. I guess I better keep my check book in the car for the rest of the year.
The change in schedule has helped me although it is an inconvenience for most. If you seen the revised schedule on DRC it shows we don't go out again until around 8 tonight. Not sure how this will effect SS class but I assume top qualifier will be the class winner.

Sportsman are scheduled to be back out around 8. Also want to take time out to acknowledge some folks who helped this morning on my car either with tools, parts or labor. The Stotts and Volkmans, The Warrens, Bob Bagley and Bob Cupp, Richie Decola and Greg Rowe. Thanks to everyone.

James, I'm not a racer I just like to take pictures of S and SS and you find any better people than sportsman racers and especially the Stotts and Volkmans.

Sorry i didn't get to stay for the night qualifying, but had to make a couple hour drive back home. Weepers can't be helped, but why the H*&^ll does NHRA have to always take away from the sportsman so the "show must go on time." Those look so much better to the fan at night when they light them off. Oh well, they certainly aren't going to listen me, since i'm just a 40 year fan. Having problems sizing pictures to upload and it's late, so I'll load them tomorrow.

DRC shows final,qualifying after 1 pass so.......did NHRA keep the sportsman around all evening and then cancel the last qualifying pass AND ruin Patsy ‘s dinner plans ? Sorry patsy I couldn’t resist ...LOL,,,,,
