As an entry level class, I'd say no. Not when you can run N, with no roll bar, no two year belts, no fire jacket, no spec pants.

There are several 78 & 79 Aspen 318 4bbl combos that will run N. Any that have a natural power to weight factor of 14 or greater will fit in the next lower class.

One advantage to running the lighter class is less weight to haul around from track to track.
Some indexes will favor a .05 second advantage over an index right next to it as well. However, there is no advantage between L, M, and N. They are all .15 sec. apart. There is between J and K |
