"Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Spitting rain has not allowed anyone down the track as of yet. Been dry for a few minutes, so maybe we just maybe get going soon. D2 text system keeping us informed which is a huge help. Big rain on the way though.

Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Thanks for the update Brett. Hoping to be out there tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Thanks for getting the thread started Brett. I'm surely fired now, truth is I haven't made it there yet and likely will not make the first race but I plan to be there sometime tomorrow.
I am signed up for text messages also and it sounded like they were going to get started about 30 minutes ago but it doesn't seem likely looking at the radar. Keep us up to date and I will see everyone tomorrow! |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Well track was ready, weather cooperating, racers ready, clocks malfunctioning. SST was in the lanes and got sent back. Not a good sign.
Tougher pill to swallow when the iffy weather is granting us a chance. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Well they are calling SST to get suited up. Right scoreboard will not function, but time slips should be good.
|
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
SST & stock got in, SC was almost done and the rain started.
My first run in stock there was some type of fluid on the track in right lane that no one caught until I ran. Obviously had to abort the run. We double checked everything and it was not us. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Just got text from NHRA control, they said box them up for the day. At least we (stockers) got a hit today. This front will blow through tonite so we should be OK tomorrow. It's beginning to rain heavy, it's Miller time or Budlight in my case.

Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Thanks again everyone for keeping us updated. Please let us know what the revised schedule might look like for tomorrow. My son and I are coming out as soon as the weather clears. We are closer to Atlanta, so hopefully when it passes us we can chase the weather up I-85.

Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Track drying underway. Gonna try to get SC finished and SS, SG in today.
If the timing malfunction was not in play, we would have gotten it done easily. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Is there a Stock Q sheet?
Thanks |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Sure DRC will have it up later but D2's live timing can show you the runs...
Hopefully the link will get you on the right trail... http://www.nhra.com/livetimingdiv/re...id=33713&div=2 |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Teddy, results are on DRC.....nice turnout of stockers.....
|
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Good to see that Carl Tasca is running a car in Stock Eliminator
|
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Well as DRC shows we got in what was set out to. All except a few SG that the moisture got to at the end. Kudos to the D2 crew for their hard work today.
Great turnout despite weather. Gonna be tough to get it all in if the weather plays factor tomorrow. And yes Carl Tasca has a brand new 2016 Cobra Jet stocker. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Day 2
At the time we were supposed to be starting off, the track drying is getting underway. Pretty good rain last night. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Looks like TORNADOS south of Atlanta !!
Hope nobody gets hit ! |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional

Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Stock Q2 in the books. I think I heard 57 stockers, not sure. Some of the weather "experts" are now saying rain backing up towards us. We shall see. If no weather issues, SS Q2 to come after TD, Comp, TS. Then after they get Q2 in, E1. Fingers crosses the weather stays south.
Sorry I'm no photographer like Ken & Mrs Patsy. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
SS Q2 done. E1 up after the fast guys are done.

No problem Brett, reports are always welcomed even without photos. Here a mishap that happened near the time slip booth. The throttle stuck on the Mustang from the info I received.
|
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
E1 stock done. PB got by and I did not.
Half way through E1 SS and oil down happened. Called it quits when that happened due to moisture setting in. Cranking up in the morning with SST at 9:00....only if the rain doesn't delay. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Weather is gone and gonna be fast the next two days!
|
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
My son and I, and about 20 other spectators, took a chance with the weather yesterday. Saw some great racing and some great cars. I will post some pics later today.
Glad the weather is much better today. Good luck to everyone. Rick Thomason GTOMayhem |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Well I made it in last night for race #2 but the problem they've had with weather has delayed that till probably tomorrow. So today I'll concentrate on a little reporting and possibly a little BS'ing. Round 2 of stock is complete and they are moving right along with clear blue skies.

Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Into E4.
Been painfully slow due lots of oil downs! Mostly TD. Might be time for NHRA to get Come up with some type of standard for the divisionals for clean ups on the oil downs. Clean ups just take forever at divisionals. |
Re: "Live" Somewhat...Atlanta Double Divisional
Yea get rid of TD,TS and alcohol funny car and dragster. Sportsman oil down problems solved
I feel your pain last year in d3 a Diesel TD dumped over30 some courts on the dragstrip. That clean up was 2-3 hours. |
