In regards to john rivers Hemi dart. I know the Original owner of that factory SS dart. Was bought by a man by the name of Fred Carr out of the white bear dodge dealer in Minnesota. He raced the car at twin city speedway and set the track record on his first pass. He never painted the car he ran it in the factory primer. Only had the car a short time before selling it. I have specific details on the car and how it was when he drove it home. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the car after john rivers was killed during a drug deal. Was told that his girlfriend at the time sold the car and trailer for 800$. Just wondering what happens to the car or if it's still around

I think he used to have pics of it. I still have to do more searching. But I can't seen to find anything before or after the john rivers guy owned it

I thought John purchased his Dart new from Van Dyke Dodge 7/25/68. Was to be picked up at the Hurst lot. I have a copy of the Retail Buyers Order that a man here in Atlanta had with some papers on the 2 darts he owned. I have no way of knowing if this paper is correct. It is a double sided copy with T&C on the back. Salesman was Kevin B and manager was Al Frankin or Franklin or something close. Has the Vin but I don't want to list it here. One of Bobs Darts was owned at one time by Craig Jackson but I don't know which one and Bob is no longer with us.

A while back a guy on moparts said the John Rivers Dart was in Florida and was for sale. The Dart was supposedly called 'Dart Vader'.

From my research, this was not Johnny Rivers car but was Bob Lambeck's

I know for a fact that Fred carrs original Hemi dart was sold to john rivers. Fred only had the car a very short time before he got into trouble and had to sell it.

Bob only had one factory LO23. The original owner was John Hooper. Dean Tait had the car after Lambeck. My opinion is that the LO23 car that was owned by John Rivers was later rebodied, this is the car that was owned by Frazer Dante-Craig Jackson- and the last I knew was in Florida painted black. The car had John Rivers and the others on title work and a lot of original parts but sadly in my opinion was rebodied Fred E

I purchased it in about 1977. Drag raced it and street raced it. Had a lot of fun with it but I was always paranoid about street driving it mainly if someone leaned on one of the doors. I removed the hemi when I purchased it and swapped in the one from my hemi roadrunner. Left on the inlines and drove it around and even drove it back and forth to work. There's been a LOT of stories on this car and believe me everyone had to get there share of $$$. That not what I owned/sold it for. It's a shame how everyone knows better than me. This whole thing really irritate me. I guess I'll just stop now. Thanks for your interest.

Hi again. When I purchased it looked exactly the same in the picture with the 11.10 on it. The first think I did was sand off his name and the fist on rear of the quarter panels lol. I eventually sanded everything off of it. I do have some pictures somewhere when (if) I get the time I'll dig them out and post some. Man those were the days. What part of the country are you from?

Scan them to your computer. Then you can upload them as an attachment or copy and paste them . It sounds like French to me to until I figured it out. Lol

I saw an orange 68 Hemi Dart at the Mecum auction his past weekend in Fla. . Probably a clone but it was a GOOD clone. Its was closed up so I could not see all of what I wanted to see. It was a street driver with under the dash A/C in it....LOL.

I googled that one. Cloth bucket seats and A/C! That would be one bad *** cruiser!
And the Hemi orange paint looked killer.
