If i switch from 26" to 24" in my N/SA 3285lb stocker will my reaction times pick up or is that just a myth? It's very difficult to cut a light right now.

And to not start two threads, how to I get the car to launch evenly and not like this:

Your RTs will pick up but your ETs will slow.

Quick and dirty? Put an airbag in the right rear. Oh and do that before you change your front tires as getting the car to not roll over will quicken your RTs.

I agree with Billy,

Looking at your pics, I would get rid of the big squat you have on the right rear by doing an airbag in that corner. They work well, inexpensive ($35?) and your excessive rear roll will reduce considerably picking up RT. I rarely see less than 26s on Mustangs to get decent rts. Usually the chassis need some tightening up first. I run a rear anti roll bar as well.

Throw the bag in , add about 25-30 PSI in it and then check rts. The front end will come down somewhat than it is now and your twist will too, but you will be moving forward sooner.

What kind of shocks on the rear, and what settings. What rear control arms upper and lower, or are they stock. Is the subframes tied, and if so how? You might be surprised how much these cars flex. A through the floor subframe connector vs one that is not, is not even in the same zip code. The shocks should control the body roll issue. BTW I have 27.5 front tires

Does anyone make a bolt in anti-roll bar now for these cars? I saw some a few years ago, but all the products now are weld in.

I agree with the airbag. That will help you out alot along with what Sean said regarding the frame connectors.

You don't have a roll bar in there either do you?

I have Eibach drag launch springs with the right rear airbag. Have 15lbs in but we didnt put that in until right before Q3 and it straightened it out a little but the sixty was actually slower. I have strange single adjustable shocks all the way around. I have subframe connectors welded in and am thinking about adding a 6 point rollbar to tie the car up some more and in case I want to move into M/SA. Adjustable chromoly upper control arms. Lower control arms are granatelli I think, but basically stock. Factory sway bar is in the rear. None in the front. Just picked up a used set of 24" hoosiers for 130 bucks so maybe I will try them.

Sound like you have similar pieces to mine. I run my Strange adjustable RR shock much stiffer than the rest to help the squat, I usually am at 30-35 in the RR bag. Same set up in my SSer. No magic and it launches pretty evenly now. I do use factory sway bar and 27.5 front runners. If I run a lot of weight in my P/SA I go back to stock rear springs with no problem.

www.teamzmotorsports.net makes dedicated fox-body stock location rear drag springs. Might be worth a try, I have one of their anti-roll bars, have not tried it yet. I have used the air bag...it is OK, at best. the TeamZ anti-roll could be bolted into the frame, you would still have to weld the brackets to the rear housing, I think that will fly in NHRA.

That bar would probably work great but there was alot of welding involved and that might be illegal. The air bag at 15lbs makes the right side of the car sit much higher than the left side at a standstill. Is this normal on these cars? Is that adding preload also? I guess scales would really help..

mine sets a little higher on the RR with the airbag also.

Try doing a little research into what was/is available as far as spring rates. If you can find a heavier rate with the same height, put it in the right rear with the air bag.

I would call and talk with Dave at team z as they are have some stock location rear drag springs made in a couple diffrent rates now that seem to be working well for people.

The taller the tire, the better. Phoenix 26.7" roll out is about the max to fit in there without any cutting.

1 Cargo Coil spring in the R/R and a pair of bags will even out the stance of the car along with weight location. Shocks will control the rest.

we are running two air bags rt side at 15 psi lt side at 6 psi drag springs adj uppers with traction action bars 4.56 gear (for now switching to 4.88 soon) no sway bar stock napa shocks 30 x 9.00 15 hoosiers with 18 psi car launches straight every time with a tall front tire great rt's 0.00 to .200 weight is 3180 runs 12.9 at 102 mph

The Air bag or anti roll bar will help, what RPM are you leaving at?, Try leaving higher.
That little motor makes no torque, so you need to twist the rubber band more, how much air in slicks

Yes. The adjustment will now come from the preload you put into the ARB. The bag is now useless.

Leaving at 2800. Running 20lbs in the slicks. Bias Ply slick, haven't fit a radial under there yet.

How high do you spin it? Radials will make your lights quicker. I have never had anything that I didn't leave above 3000.
