Someday NHRA will learn the laws of physics--supercharged and turbocharged cars don't lose 3% HP per 1000 ft elevation like normally aspirated cars; they lose only about 0.5% per 1000.
I guess it will happen when NHRA learns that electrons flow from the anode to the cathode for the cut-off switch.

Don't give NHRA any ideas to put a Supercharged car in E/SA.This one was not.

No need to feel sorry for me, I know when I enter a class what I'm up against, don't matter if its 3 miles from home or 1,130 , you play the game the way it is an move on.at the end of the day me an my family can still take pride in what we built, lots to be said there. On to the next.

Still fits in E after horsepower. Just has to add more weight. Any more horsepower makes it a natural C car.

4.25% makes it a natural C car, 3130/330 = 9.48. A convertible could still fit E.

Somehow NHRA called it 3.25% which still makes it an E car.

Re: Looks like hp on Tuesday

You have to go 1.25 under to get 4.25%. Every additional 0.05 under gets you an additional 1%. All the way up to 1.999 under getting you 18.25%.

So, he should get 4.25%. Paul, did they announce 3.25% already? Normally it's on Tuesday. If so, I guess they could claim they "adjusted" it due to altitude.

It was 316. It should be 330. I am sure it will be corrected.

Larry is reaping the benefits of laying down good money for a fast car. I don't however, agree with what he is doing.

IMO he should back it off some, now that he has gotten an instant hit on the combo, but he paid the money and he can do what he wants.

Our Mustang is getting close, but the way the HP keeps going up, it could be a A or B car before long.......

And I know that will make a lot of people happy.

Too bad we all can't get 35 hp taken off our Combo's. Right Greg?? LOL

Kevin Stubbs is trying to convince me to do the same thing. Seems like a lot of work for an old fat man!! I am considering it though. All I need is a transmission, bell housing, clutch, shifter, linkage, clutch pedal ......Oh and a pocket full of cash!

You'd be just fine in A or B, if an LS1 can go 10.0s in B you should be able to go well into the 9s.

Ls1 firebird used to be able to go 10.0s and that was only a handful of them before the 12hp. Now if you're taking about corvettes that's a different story!

You need stick shift pieces, we might have some. That long wheel base thing is a real struggle. And I got lots of 904 Pro Trans.

I probably should have said 10.1s. You're definitely right about the Corvettes.

Re: Looks like hp on Tuesday

Andrew you were correct in your 1st Post, an LS1 can and did go 10.0's in "B" Stick, (10.02 Kevin Stubbs was #2 Qualifier at Indy of all places, that was last year, I believe he told me he could have gone some 9.80's at Houston with the same setup In "B".

You're right, their underrated also.

R.J. Knowing what yours and others like it make on the dyno, you can't talk about anybody being under rated. LOL The LS1 is nowhere close.

Ed?.......Buddy??........When did I say anything about it being underrated? I was just agreeing with Andrew "the Thrill" Hill about how fast the Ls1's were.

With the dyno numbers from our motor would you believe the 352 Combo in 'D" could run some 9.70's in the right conditions??? LOL

I absolutely believe it. :-)
Most Super Stockers that size make less. It will be bad-azzed even in A.

Absolutely. I would think it would make quite a bit more HP than a super stock LT1, and I assume you saw the qualifying sheet from Bowling Green this last weekend? The 352 at 330 HP is more under factored than an LS1 was at 305 or an LT1 was at 275.

Re: Looks like hp on Tuesday

The LS1 is a descent combo with a stick but you still have to have a good piece to run fast......Its not that easy. Most of the new cars are underrated especially with a stick because most people don't have the balls to run one.

Would you believe 678hp with the new optional camshaft/cylinder head pieces that Ford is releasing for the 2014 season.
