Larry Pfister, who made the video (and several others) closed his Horsepower Heaven website a couple of years ago, but I believe that he still has the videos for sale. Try contacting him on his new website. fromheretoeternity.com

Re: 4 Days in May??

Besides "Four Days In May",, Larry also had 2 excellent DVDs called: "Monsters Of Launch" and then "Four More Days In May", which also highlighted John Galina's efforts to be the "First Superstock in the 7s" with his turbo Buick.
Even though these discs are 10 years old, now, they're still a kick to pull out now and then, as Larry did a great job putting these together.

Wow, time flies Four Days in May was great, Monsters of Launch was good, never saw the Four More days release, can't believe that was 10 years ago!

Tim,,, I'm thinking Four More Days was done over the '04-'05 seasons, so that DVD is a little more recent,,,, still very entertaining.

Good guess Danny, I checked my copys, the origional "4 days in May" covered the 2001 race at Mission, "4 more Days" covered 2004.

Anyone know how many times since then Bobby has run in the 9's? I was at that event and it was awesome to see both the Stock and SS cars that showed. Think I'll watch it again tonight.

I was there for both of them. Didn't Robert Pond go into the 9s factored at Boise the race before mission? I remember that grand national at mission drove it to the lanes like a Sunday drive what a sleeper of a car. I watched all this cause I was racing in the super classes at the time but was well awhere of what was going on.

Larry Pfister is one of the greatest fans of Drag Racing, and he has the talent to make these videos.

I was even fortunate enough to be in one or two of them. He is a great guy. If he still sells them, buy one! The best drag videos you can buy!

Bobby D was the first to go 9's unfactored.

Kevin...I was at that event in Mission, it was really something. The "true old school" battle for that first 9 second stocker run. I got my last copy from Larry @ 3 years ago and he was tough to get a hold of then and we lived in the same city. I recently heard that Rich Carlson (div 6 photographer) might be your contact for the Horsepower Heaven stuff now. I don't have his number but hopefully some Washington State guys will chime in with it. Hope this helps...Maurice.

As usual Jeff chimes in with out reading the question then states something that is already known because I was there. The question was did Robert Pond go into the 9s factored at Boise the race before mission? So after you correct for the altitude for Boise Firebird raceway ( there is another one for a while longer in Arizona ) off what was on NHRA site for the correction factor was it a 9 sec run?

The Boise divisional was about 3 weeks before the Mission divisional race. Pond ran a 10.229 which, at the time, factored to a 9.90. Joe Aluise ran a few cars behind him and also broke the (factored) 9-second zone. Aluise got the record that weekend (I think at a 9.93?) as he was the first of the two to back up his record run.

If you knew it all, because you were there, why did you ask the question? And if you knew Pond went into the 9's @ Boise and wanted the altitude correction factor, why didn't you ask the first time? FYI - it's on the NHR.com website. But I'm sure you knew that.

Re: 4 Days in May??

Thanks Julie for answering that question. I was pretty sure somebody did the factored one before the unfactor one at mission.
