What to do?

As the 2011 racing season winds down it is time to sell my race car diffenitly maybe again (lol) and start over. The question I have is that if I break open the piggy bank should I build a old style car with the latest technology or get one of those new fangled muskrats (mustangs)?

What would you do? (All opinions accepted)

Put a 6 cylinder in it and give Billy a run for his money. And you'll have enough left over for a good supply of Arturo Fuente's.

And a stick! Mustangs suck and Dp's can't keep up.

Bob Pagano 09-08-2011 07:14 AM

Re: What to do?

Fuente's. Now thats good, piss money away on a dp or musto bad idea. You will be behind the curve on both playing catch up. The horse has left the barn. People that are trying to sell them can not, there are 2-3 of both and they are not selling.

Your duce is "Bad Azz"
The KK paint job is AWESOME.
& Tilburg provides you the "power that rocks"

Did U break another leg? LOL
X2 on what Joe Martens said "Stick-It"

What happened to that "Lucky Strike" attitude? (I'd rather "Fight than switch")

If you can't beat em ,,join em...................Nahhhhhhhhh. Keep what you got.....And maybe run a little bit of IHRA stuff til you feel better,at least you don't have to worry about a heads up with the new cars as they are in a place of their own...
Maybe everyone should do this that is thinking they are doomed in NHRA. This may wake up some sleepy heads at Glendora... I know thats asking a lot ( A WHOLE LOT ) ,but think about it if all of you would do this you will still be one big happy family and still having fun running stock and superstock and then you could b###tch about the crate motor classes (which also have their own class)....Just saying......After all it is the pride you take in your car ,not what sanction you run......

Ed Wright 09-08-2011 08:03 AM

The smart thing to have is a hood scoop car.

Joe - Yes , it was more work with the "big" motor but even you'll admit you were much happier then - put it back in ..........and forget about racing the "new" cars as the waters will be less muddy next season .

PS - And speaking of work - did you ever watch a CobraJet racer take his SuperCharged engine apart ? Kinda makes your big block deal a cakewalk .

See you later in the day ...........Working on the Ark --- its almost finished ! ! !

Re: What to do?

Put a stick in it and you and Lance race it together. Should be a smooth transision with all of Lance's experience. You will have a blast going 128+ with a big block. Might be an advantage the way u can drive.

There really are voices in your head, Joe,,,,,,,,,Joe,,,,,,,,Joe can your hear me ?

My real answer is wait 2-3 months and see if nhra makes a move, then decide.

If Jimmie Bridges is correct they won't be a problem next year.

Re: What to do?

its really a simple answer, for as good a driver as you are , and the value of your nova ,a new mustang or challenger is not that out of reach, for the money i believe the challengers are more cost effective

Re: What to do?

Any advantage the new incorrectly factored cars had is pretty much gone............unless you just have to run A/SA or AA/SA

Unless you want to be the second leaving car during the ALL of the eliminator, there is no advantage.......

It looks like the only NEW incorrectly factored cars are in the lower classes and a few smart racers are running them....they will be a problem until the other racers figure out that they could also have an unfair factor, build new cars and force them to run quicker.......

I would wait to see what NHRA is going to do in the future and not make a decision at this time....
