safety harness
Let me hear about your favorite Safety Harness company. I am near the purchase time for a new set, plan to buy the cam lock style.

Re: safety harness
My favorite was Impact, but with accusations of counterfit SFI tags. I bought Simpson this year. I have always bought Camlock harnesses.

Re: safety harness
Take a look at Crow Industries in Anaheim, CA. very nice product they
offer both latch and cam lock. Service was fast and easy and the price was very fair. I know they have a web site. |

Re: safety harness
I hear lot's of good feedback about Stroud having good products and good service.

Re: safety harness
I would see who is paying contengincy (if any) and then compare... We need to support any company if they will step to the plate and pay......

Re: safety harness
Impact has been sold, all is well with SFI.

Re: safety harness
dad and I both have stroud, and couldn't be happier. I like that the camlock attaches to the crotch belt. It allows you to drop it to the floor and not sling it all over the interior of the car.

and came back the next day to pick up and took them home to install.....found out they would not fit my "fat" body (and I'm way smaller than Jeff Teuton by alot). so I took them back in to Crow and explained what I did wrong and they fixed the problem (gave me longer side belts) again the next day, no charge. |

Yes they will redo any brand, the original set I started with was a out of date set Bill Riddle gave me for my project, Crow redid them (or just gave me another new set?) and the charge was about $48.00. I live close so no shipping, but they will ship no problem. |

They also made me a custom window net that fits well. Bill Lamb |
Re: safety harness
Belts have to be returned and recertified after two years, which gets expensive. RCI Platinum Series belts come with a re-cert card for one free re-cert with about $20 shipping cost. I'll find out how well that works in a couple months.

Re: safety harness
I have used Stroud cam lock harness for years. Just remember that your life may depend on that safety harness, and you get what you pay for. The Stroud harness saved my life, involved in racing accident in 2008 and the harness did its job, sure glad I spent the extra money for very good quality made in America harness.

Re: safety harness
The harness is only one component of the safety-system. The biggest concern when talking about Stockers is the use of stock-seats and how the harness is mounted.
Today do we have stockers trapping at 130mph, that with stock seats and the harness mounted way wrong. Hit the wall and you will get severe chest and pelvis problems...You are not safe. Happy and Safe New Year guys! |
Re: safety harness
I'll put my $.02 worth in for Safety Solutions. I was fortunate at Beech Bend this year to win a safety makeover from those folks. They came to my car and showed me how the belts should be properly routed. They do alot of work with NHRA and automotive manufacturers. There is more than just purchasing a set of belts and bolting them in.
