"Scotty" Rule?
I'm an SC guy, so this is an admittedly stupid question from left field, but what's the "Scotty Rule" and how did it get that name?
Thanks :) |

From what I hear......the majority is voting against it....

Re: "Scotty" Rule?
So I assume the idea is that Super Street is supposed to be an "entry level" class and they're trying to stop the pit bulls from eating the ducks?

It appears that when most race Scotty in comparison to others that their Transbrake finger sweats a little bit more, causing a ton of red lights.

Re: "Scotty" Rule?
I think that NHRA should ask racers in other classes what their opinion on this issue is. I was hoping this would get changed so that I would be able to race my IHRA Crate Motor Stocker in Super Street at a few select Division 3 events this year.

Re: "Scotty" Rule?
Not a stupid question Chris. I never had a problem with Scotty personally but for a few years it was getting riduculous. To be fair...he was not the only one hanging out in S/St back then. Chuck Rothermal and Pete Biondo ripped up the D1 series for a number of years while running other classes as well.
One of NHRA's reasonings was having SC & SG guys dropping to the class, weighting up and really hitting the stop against (back then) a crop of mainly low to mid ten second super-pro type vehicles. Other guys simply went out and got a second car to run two classes over the weekend, which is fine with me, but whomever mentioned the "entry-level" aspect earlier is absolutely correct. I do remember reading that explanation/class adjustment in ND or some other divisional news letter back then. |
Re: "Scotty" Rule?
With the .500 tree it's a different ball game.
The rule is outdated! |
