Re: Florida travel question
No problem unless over 65' TOTAL length or over weight for you NC tag. If over 65', you can get a one year over length permit for $20. It took me less than a week to get one.

Re: Florida travel question
Biggest Aligator caught this year was 14 ft 2in. In Florida ! not LA

Re: Florida travel question
Chip, I would change the weight on the tag. Just make sure it doesn't exceed the total gvw of the truck and trailer. Weight cops really frown on that. Another 4 or 5 k on the NC tag will not be much $. Good luck.......driving and racing.

Re: Florida travel question
originally The Legend stated;
Going to Florida in a dually with a 48 ft enclosed trailer. What problems may I run into? I will be traveling I-95 As you travel South you will notice a decrease in the size and amount of pot holes on I-95. This can be remedied by getting off I-95 and get onto I-75. They both head South with traffic congestion being greater on I-95 The weather will seem to get warmer and then will turn on you as the sun goes down. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) cars are yellow and black, and cannot be detected with the human eye until you pass them, even if they are sitting in the medium. Shorter skirts, tight shorts, bikinis, and thongs are of a distraction when driving as you get closer to the coastline. I-95 is for people from the new England area, NY/NJ (same same), and other eastern states. I-75 is for Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. Pennsylvania has both options. I-95 ends in Miami, you need to know how to speak Spanish Hope this helps Chip. Ron Ortiz U/SA traveling on the super slab |

But I got a feeling that it get more complicated, especially after a certain amount. |
Re: Florida travel question
Make sure the trailer & the truck are both registered in the same name. (cops check that) and make sure the truck is registered in a persons name not a business. Register it to a business and it is a business vehicle and subject to DOT regs regardless of length.

Re: Florida travel question
I got pulled over last year and was told it did not go by what you weigh, but what the GVW was, for the plates.
