Nitro Plate or Jet Hot
 

I know alot of racers like Nitro Plate due to the quick contengency payments and all but if that were not a factor which one would you choose. I am going to send a set of headers off to be done this week and would like to hear what you all think. If you know of another one better than these 2 please let me know.

NitroPlate has by far a better product, and much better customer service. Jet Hot also just closed their Mississippi plant if that tells you anything.

Six years ago (before NitroPlate was around) i took some headers to Jet-Not in Pascagoula, MS. the people were rude and seemed put out that i dropped parts off instead of shipping them. When i went to pick them up..............they wouldn't take cash, credit card or money order only.

Kevin, Chris and Mike are by far 3 of the best guys you will meet, and they will go the extra mile to take care of their customers. Their facility is top notch, and the product is the best in the industry.

Cash is legal tender for all debts, public and private. My understanding is that if someone refuses cash, it nullifies the debt, and you don't have to pay anything.

I doubt that will work. In Illinois you cannot even pay taxes and some fees to the Secertary of States office (DMV) in cash they send you down the street to get a money order.

Nitro plate or AirBorne Coatings. ..... Jet Hot has a facility 15 miles from me that I will not deal with any more due to poor quality and even worse turn around time. Add to that, Jet Hot will only pay contingency for 2 years, after that you need to either have the headers recoated or replace them with new ones ! Who does that. ....Tom

does AirBorne have the oem coating background and history that Nitro Plate does? just got to www.nitroplate.com and read for yourself

I'd stay away from Jet Hot. I couldn't get 2 seasons out of there coating. I've seen AirBorn stuff that look like new after 5 years. If the headers are new get them done right. Once they start to rust the coatings never hold up.

Won SS Eliminator @ Quaker City, Div 1-7 IHRA 08-16-08. Sent e-mail to Matt Petrauskas (matt@jet-hot.com) 10-01-08 regarding $100.00 contingency. To date, no reply. All of the other (16) companies that I e-mailed replied or sent check in a timely manner. I have had six (6) sets of headers plated by "Jet-Hot" in the past five years for various cars and have displayed their decals on the racecar all of that time...I think I qualify for the contingency. If I don't get the contingency, I will remove the decals and voice my displeasure with the company and every racer I know to discourage use of their product.

Good Luck with Jet Hot but I think you may become the member of the club I belong to. Those who get stiffed by Jet Hot. There are a lot of members if you just ask around at a race anywhere across the country. I took my decals off years ago and stopped using their service.

I have not tried either Nitro-Plate or Airborne...... but I will be this off-season........ I had my roadster headers done by Jet-Hot in the middle of the 2006 season......... when they came back I found that the surfaces between the tubes had not been coated properly........ when I question Jet-Hot about the poor quality of workmanship, I was told that they were just a re-coat and that I should have bought new headers....... not really what I wanted to hear........ and now I have rusted headers.......

I will NEVER use Jet-Hot again.........

I've had (2) sets done by Nitro Plate, one on my Bracket Chevelle, the other on my Super Stocker...1 set was a redo from Jet-Hot only 1 season later. VERY pleased with NitroPlate!!! Not to mention, when I won the Div 5 Event at BIR this season I had the contingency check by the end of the week!

In 2005 at the SportsNationals in OH Mike F. from Nitroplate paid all class winners who ran his sticker $50, whether you had product or not. Who else does that? I didn't get to collect, but left my sticker on and won a class race a month or so later. I checked Nitroplate as I had the sticker. I didn't realize their support/sponsorship for non-product was a one race deal until I emailed about non-payment (which a response was promptly returned unlike others). They explained the one race deal, but paid me anyway. I left the sticker on my car for an entire extra year in return for a contingency payment I didn't deserve and I know where I'll send something if it needs coated.

Jet Hot has still not paid me from last year. I have talked to Matt over and over and he still claims that I am in line. I will never use them again.

There is a company in Indy called, Pro-Kote/Indy. I had my headers done there over the winter for my altered and they are awesome. I was worried about having an orange peel finish like some do, but these are really slick. I have had a lot of compliments on them this year. They charged 235.00 to do them( strip the chrome and ceramic coat). I was going to use Nitroplate otherwise, but this way I had no shipping cost. I too have heard Jet Hot product isn't consistently good.

I talked to a Guy named Chris this afternoon super helpfull and awnsered all my questions in detail. Seemed like a super nice guy my headers are leaving in the morning.

For those of us on the wrong coast (SOCAL) I was refered to
Tubo Hot Header Coating in Riverside, CA (951)-781-4480 by
Bob Mazzolini Racinig. They have done headers for Bob's cars.

They did a great job of cleaning the rust off my old headers
and the polished silver coating looks great. Price was fair.

Had 2 sets of headers coated by Jet-Hot last season. Service and turnaround were great. The finish was good. However, 10 months later they are starting to rust. I would recommend Nitro Plate.

Suprised to hear a bad experiance with Air Borne. ......I have'nt had anything done by them in about 3 years. ....... I've used them for years, altho my Stocker stuff has gone to NitroPlate. .....My old headers on the S/G car were done by Airborne 10 years ago , and they still look great. .........Companys do change tho, I'm sure everybody on this board has seen a company they once swore by, go bad. .......Tom

Nitro-plate is the only way to go, you won't be sorry with them. Racers taking care of Racers! Great bunch of Guys!;)
