Just wanted to tell everyone that the large diameter cams might be a thing of the past If Bill ever gets his ultra secret "Rubber lobe" cam all tricked out. More lift and duration as you turn higher RPM. He just doesn't know how to get the lifters to mate or break in. It has something to do with all the rubber skid marks on the lifters. I've offered my help because Bill needs help with this, Please only constructive comments. BTW: They hold up real good. My wife got mad at me for staying on the computer so long and clubbed me with one of the prototypes. Darn thing held it's shape, but left some nice bruises. OH, well.
Merry Christmas.

I don't know...I think Rottler must have spiked em with 1.062 by .875's..

I will have to check at the bar on that:mad:

Wait, son, your intuition was correct Jesel said he served up 16 of them, he told me to tell you if you want to order one for yourself , the correct secret code is BSH-53131:cool:

While I was hanging out there..I overheard the chatter, and the jist I got was not to try the PLT-53139's though as they are intented to get you rolled:)

Now, I don't need to be rolled, besides....that's illegal! Trend told me just dip these babies in DLC and you will be fine, you will get the same effect as the PLT-53139 without having to pay for it...Just make sure Rottler pours everything at the same angle .He told me to check with Tilburg though he knows, I didn't realize Tilburg and Trend been hanging out for awhile now;)

I would recommend before you hang out with that crowd you better check with Knight first ...they must be really proud of that long thing that makes it all work:eek:

A bird flew in and told me that I can get the same thing from that joint up in Michigan...said they been doin it for years:rolleyes:

Hey...I wonder if that one Smith got beat with would work better? Naw, wont work in the ford. Stuska says, don't worry about what they say, I am heading in the right direction:D

Merry Christmas folks

That's not quite the way it works. The rules are written and enforced in a "positive" manner. That is, if the rule book does not say you can do it, then it is not allowed. Plus, according to the paragraph under "BLUEPRINTING" in the stock cars section, it clearly states "Stock factory OEM components (unless otherwise specified) must be retained and remain unaltered . . . " (emphasis mine). That's a good basis for it not being allowed.

THIS thing has been talked to death. WHY NHRA cant make a ruling on it I cant understand . Two years ago they nhra tech said it was ok as long AS you use the babbit bearing now its not? AS FAR RULE BEING ENFORCED YA RIGHT.

Rules state OEM lift....weather its checked at the valve or cam does not matter to me

There is probably only 2 combos on the planet (in stock) that would benefit from any of the non standard mods I discussed...I happened to own one of them

The rest just do not have the headflow to bother with extending the rpm range to make any of it worthwhile, also...the other combo already has the proper valvetrain geometry.....mine does not as delivered, hence the mods

It is obvious that it has hurt a few feelings around here but I am building for one reason and one reason only....and, its not to bracket race!
