Dennis-------I left out Dale sent us a 2.75 low gear set out of a GM motorcoach, didn't know it even existed. 15.31 starting line ratio with a 5.57 gear and 5000 conv. If there was bite it could run with a Hemi in 60 ft. --------- :)

I didnt know it was an SX. I did notice the 71 molding along the bottom and at least thought it was converted from a 71 to a 72.

I can't one-up you guys on odometer mileage, my red '70 has over 140,000 of hard Michigan (salt induced) miles on it.

Ironic how the race cars are often the ones best preserved.

Dan
You mentioned your black car was a SX. Do you know if the Ron Garey Supreme was an SX? I dont see the emblems. This car was a 455 car right? Funny how alot of 71 Supremes and convertibles that raced had the wrong grilles in them. These 71 Supremes are supposed to have metal grilles. Maybe they changed them out to the S grilles for weight saving.

Next it was painted in a beautiful multicolor scheme as it is today. Jim has the car in N.C. sitting in his garage after getting it back from Glen Myers who owned and raced it about 6 years back. Jim got it back when Glen had some health issues. When I talked to Glen recently he said he was doing better and negotiating with Jim to race the car again.

hey danny that is my black olds in that pic with the 60's corvette in the crash.that was at dallas spring nats 1971.the corvette had heavy front end damage.my car we replaced rear bumper and trunk but never put the wing back on.the rear end of those early cutlass cars was no match for the fiberglass front end's of those early vett's.that was in the burn out box when the vette lost the brakes. do you have anymore pics of the 71 fornof olds.if so please post them.my car was never a super stocker.the 72 car in the other pic was a super stocker till jimmy butler bought it from fornof.dover raced it with a 350 then later dover bought it from butler than made it in to a stocker.dover later sold it to a local guy when jerry bought the camaro from kenny. the local that bought the 72 car sold it to johnny williams i think!!

Only Fornoff pictures I have. Ive got a white 70-72 with similar painted woodgrain like the one that you said
Jerry Dover had. The brown 70 one that was originally a w-31 that later Bill Hudson from Kentucky owned.
I have a white car like that with 72 taillights and painted woodgrain. Just white where Bill Hudson former Dover
car was brown. The brown and white car are actually sitting side by side. You think it came from Fornof?

Note the brown former Dover car in the background. 4775.

Cruiser---- There are two cars 1 Stocker and 1 S/Stocker. They look almost identicle including most of the decals. The stocker 1971 Supreme 455 sx has 12 street miles --started with John and Ezra Beachy , Beachy Machine in I believe Kokomo Indiana then Ken Shawver Defiance Ohio then 1980 George Cable father of Tommy Cable with our old D and L Chestnut SS/K conv. then 1981 my partner Bob Dodson then me in 1982. The S/Stocker bought of the street in 1974 started life as a 1970 Supreme 350. It was stripped sold all the parts and kept the roof, firewall, floors and quarters. New doors were stripped of guard beams and dipped. All new panels replaced and acid dipped 28% The frame was cut into 4 pieces acid dipped and reassembled and narrowed. All control arms, bumpers , back braces and anything that wouldn't melt dipped. Back when most S/S stockers would barely lift a tire this thing would and has scrapped the rear bumper. Always thought it was a pretty sight Black S/S on black car hauler pulling black trailer with almost identical black stocker. :)

Sam-----That's interesting, I didn't know yours was one of the Fornoff cars. It sure made a mess of that Vette. Sorry I don't have any photos of the Fornoff cars and I think you're right , seems Johnny told me he wrecked a car then bought another one from down your way.
