I never sat in one of those new Mustangs but they must be hard to see out of to take a 1/2 second stripe on a heads up run. :D

I know one thing about this whole discussion and that's the Boss is definitely over rated.

Alan; correct again! and if the booster is a restriction, how about the fuel molecule that the carb shares air space with that the throttle body does not? BTW; I'd love to have an engine in my stocker that makes 1.95 per inch that is NHRA factored at .95....should be pretty fast huh?

Interesting question on the air flow.

We have done extensive testing comparing a 780 against the t/b and a carb with and without boosters. Would you believe that a carb without the boosters only flows a single digit increase compared to a 780 with the boosters?

. What really helps the 780cfm flow more air than the t/b is that the carb is nearly 3 times the height (counting the air horn) as compared to a 2 inch t/b. The carb, due to its" tunnel design", has the advantage of increased velocity compared to the t/b.

This helps in the atomization of the fuel and gives it a "heavy charge" and that results in almost a 30% increase in the flow/velocity for the 780 carb compared to a "dry" T/B.

Its really elementary physic's.

How'd that sound??

Not being a smart a.. RJ but with you switching to a Mustang doesn't that mean that you will be doing to older cars what you had done to you at Indy? Just saying

Your car is bad fast too!

Re: Looks like hp on Tuesday

or how about this?

Fuel droplets that are introduced into modified tunnel chambers (carb), actually give the air a friction fighting orgasmic attitude which steadily increases the air speed and flow capabilities of the fuel charge, as opposed to a dry air funnel effect as in the case of an t/b.

Ed.....every chance I get!!

I figure that with the way I drive I will need all the advantages that I can get. Every time I beat an old car I will buy the driver supper and express my deepest apologies .

Actually, you're right. Visibility sucks due to the tiny little quarter window that gets worse when replaced with those louvers. I find the new Camaros to be even worse though.

That's what I was thinking too.

RJ;
You are truly a funny guy! Elementary Physics? Heavy charge? Orgasmic? Funny stuff Maynard! The term "butt monkey" comes to mind but a little humor is needed on C/R; Keep up the good work.
