I bought that car for $1000 my senior year of high school.....in March of 1969. I had fallen in love with those cars back in 1965 when I first saw them run at old PID, at a NASCAR Grand Stock event. In any event, mine had a 273 with an auto when I got it. In 1971 I got a hold of a Hemi from a stock car buddy, and it's been this way ever since. That Monaco: C body factory four speed. Now, that is a rare piece.

A local collector has one of the very few (I don't know how many were produced) 1965 Chrysler 300L (last letter series) with a 426 wedge four speed. A buddy of mine had a 65 Sport Fury 426 wedge four speed.

Rare bird, indeed. That one is a keeper.

Hemi Moose...... The car is going to be restored to stock specs with some minor tweaks to the motor. It is a complete matching numbers car and I think way too rare to make it into anything else. It deserves to be brought back to original. The factory color is Pale Gold Poly with black gut and no vinyl top.
