Re: Next Debate.
The dyno numbers would be very helpful in determining a fair nhra factored Horsepower. Dynos have been around for a very long time and most good shops can pin point actual Horsepower and Torque numbers. This isn't rocket science. There is no need to ignore the obvious truth about theses cars. Also, we all know that the nhra rates these combinations on a curve so you will never see the actual Horsepower figure for any given combination show up in the Class guides.
BTW the new CJs are making much, much more horsepower than any 396 or 427 on the planet. This point is not in contention. |

Re: Next Debate.
Gump,
Best numbers 592 Horsepower and 557 Torque. This motor is nhra rated at 420 Horsepower. |
Re: Next Debate.
Mine made right at 402 at the rear wheels and is factored at 341 HP. So, now what do we do? Mine is nowhere near the fastest, so can they even use mine? One dyno to the next will not read the same for many reasons, so how do we make up for that? Do you see where I am going with this whole dyno theory? There is no way that it can be done and give perfect results. Even if the the run is honest. I believe that the CJ is a soft combination, but I also don't believe that 500 HP is the right number. There have been lots of soft combinations before and I am sure that there will be many more. I really think that everyone should sit back and see what happens with this one. At least for a little while.

Re: Next Debate.
Gump,
I'm sorry, this isn't a complicated issue to resolve. One of these motors will be on the dyno someday soon and it won't take very long to figure out where they really belong. Thanks. |
