Damn, Paul...you really know your stuff.
Maybe you can help me find some old pix of my COPO Camaro that was sold at Scuncio Chev, Rallye Green & raced by Adrian L as 'Rat Patrol' His brother Mario had a 442 with a tunnel ram and was very fast.
Any help much appreciated

Thanks Moose. Would love to see a couple of it racing. Been told Adrian was active in the street scene, in the RI to Boston area, as well as the drag strip

Denny Ford from D1 raced a 427 Chevelle in A/S during the early 80s. I don't know if it was a COPO car or not.

Actually, the big car had the 427 available from 1966 until 1969.

Over on Competition Plus, they have a link to the video from the 1978 SportsNationals, Stock came down to S.E Buchanan in his D/S Mustang and Bobby Blankenship in his B/S 66 Biscayne 427/425.

All of the 66 427/425 2 door big cars were natural B cars and stick only. But there were real 66 Chevy big cars with the 427/425 and a 4 speed.

Yes, my dad and Bobby are good friends. He raced the same combo in B/S when Bobby was racing his. Very unique cars.

Somewhere out amongst the cedar trees on the north side of FT.Hood Texas sits the body of a copo 427 Chevelle that was raced by the U S Army Drag Racing Team and was a regular at Temple Academy Dragway in temple Texas.
