It is a pain to get one on a stocker and twice that in a Super Stocker. Dennis has a really nice product and will work with you. The cars I have seen are really close to ours and the fit is really nice. Bottom line, it protects the racer, the car, the track and your wallet. Cheap insurance when you need it. I would think it would keep the oil / block at a consistant temp also.

Just my 2 cents worth. Several years ago I was testing the week before the season started and had a small oil leak that I had not seen prior to going to the track. About 100 feet off of the starting line it put some oil under my tires and promptly put me in the wall pretty hard bounced off of the wall and carried me over to the other wall which was an even harder hit. I ended up rechassising the car. I spent a year and a half putting the car back together at quite a bit of an expence. Brought the car back out with a diaper installed. Tested a little at the end of the year. I went to test one more time the week before the season and on the very first run got into oil that the car in front of me had put on the track that wasnt fully cleaned up by the track personnel and put it back into the wall at 170 mph. In 2 years I had wrecked that car twice because of oil on the track, once my fault and once from someone elses car and in that two years never ran one round of competition. I guess my point is whether it is a rule or not, oil on the track can be a problem for you as well as your fellow competitiors. I will also say I was much more pissed off by getting into someone elses oil than I was mine. I feel like if I would have had a diaper on the first time I would not have wrecked, and if the guy that ran in front of me the second time had one on, I would not have wrecked either. So if you feel like saving 150 to 200 dollars is worth all the gambling with the money you have in your cars, go for it.

Chuck, your statment on gambling the odds is true, however as you outlined here is the person thats not running a diaper that laid down some oil. And you with a diaper goes for the ride as you did..............fortunally in S/G and S/C this is not a problem as we all have to have diapers.

What I don't really understand.........is why anyone that has a fortune invested in their cars will be that bullheaded as not to have a little extra insurance and their safety as well.

I have a diaper, never used it, hope I never have to use it, but I will also ALWAYS wear it!

We've been running Diapers made by Dennis on all three of our Pro Nitrous carsfor the last two seasons and it's saved our butts more than a few times. Even with all the piston and rod changes we do at the track the diapers are not that big a problem getting off and back on. I know that any of you think there is a bunch of space to work with on these cars but that simply isn't the truth when it comes to the oil pan and diaper with dry sump pump, lines, starter, master cylinder to pan distance., etc.it's no easy chore but well worth the price and pain. I know it saved Tim's arse at Gateway when rod brock and came through the pan on a 4 second 180 MPH, 1/8th mile pass.
I'm definitely going to put one on my stocker to. JMT.

Mickey Whaleys first oildown was a trans leak, a diaper would not have helped this problem.

I think the diaper is a cheap safety item and will save more money than it cost, plus you guys that run bogus rods, it will not let this stuff hit the ground so the officials can see it.

Playing Devil's advocate, when you install a diaper if you don't bother to either take it down or somehow inspect what's inside there,you may be missing the start of something big,and possibly dangerous or expensive.But we all know that all S/SS racers are
meticulous in the maintenance of their cars and equiptment.
I'm sure it's a good product,if used correctly.

Ed I do tell guys to check diaper because our diaper is so waterproof it wont leak, good point

I have a 170mph 7 second dragster. I've also had many doorcars including stockers.
I have lost an engine or two over the years and believe the diaper is one of the best things you can put on a car safety wise.

I got back into a dragster after having a stocker for a short time and felt I would add 2 very important things on my latest car for safety.

Two sets of brakes and the SFI diaper.
