Hi Charlie,

To me it looks more like a peace of cartboard or so, with some yellow letering, covering (or replacing) that window.

Could be a "For Sale" sign ?

(Notice; In the following posts, is a guy who claim he can read a lettering on the front fender, saying "LAB Machines", but even the fotographer, who got the original photo, cant read it, and no matter how much I zoom, I cant read it too.)

I remember there has been posted another picture, here in this thread, with an LO23 wearing pretty much exactly the same paint scheme, just red on silver in stead of black on silver.

Has anyone identyfied that car, or tracked the picture?

Does this color combination match what the guy who painten your car white (before Tim Henderson restored it) descriped for you?

Always good to get another opinion on stuff, and I do believe your right on that Passenger Side window. It does look like it is solid , prolly a piece of thin plywood or something because the original corning glass broke. like you I can't make out the lettering.
I'm thinking that the tow truck in front of it was part of the racing operation. There is writing on the front fender of it, but I can't make it out.

I did contact Lab Machine and spoke with the owner there last year and He does remember doing engine work for a guy with a Hemi Dart in the 70's, but doesn't remember any more specifics on it..

There are similarities on this car compared to rumors and information that has been dug up on my car over the years. Among those This car does have a tunnel Ram with a couple of big ol Holleys sitting on top. My car has been reported to have had a Tunnel Ram on it also.
Too bad there is no hood to be seen in this picture because my car was reported to have had a second scoop moulded on top of the original scoop. The owner had a nickname of 2 Scoop Lido..
Back over to the Yellow Bullet forum where it was reported the owner of that Dart was a Bob Lambandino or something like that (Similar to Lido?) Maybe 2 scoop Dino????

When Tim Hennessy bought this car off Lou Vignogna back in the mid 80's it was white. At the time of my purchase in 2001, it was believed to have been Charlie Castaldo's Dart which was Silver and red back in the early 70's. I found and spoke with the guy (Paul Pittman) who actually stripped the colors off the car when Lou owned it and painted it that white. He remembers the car being a silver, but doesn'remember if it had any insert color or not or if it did what color it was. he said maybe had a Maroon painted insert

PS Muchos Thanks to Terry Wetzel herefor giving me the heads up info on that picture.

I agree on the yellow window (cardboard/plywood) solution. Dang...to let him even run it with that!

I remember a guy at a track that broke the window completely out of his truck because he was told "If the glass is there, no cracks allowed". lol

Was the roll bar a common place for the fire extinguisher?

Has a different scoop (hood on the roof) than original.

I haven't posted in years, but have checked occasionally to see what has developed. Darryl, it is always good to see the latest updates on your car! A question for member LO23, do you know who was the first owner of your car? Sorry if it was already stated and I missed it. I finally built a car project with the wife's encouragement, I strayed from the Mopar family but it follows the "little car - big (compared to stock) engine" formula. the power to weight ratio is approx 7.7Lbs per HP. Not in your league, but a huge jump for me. I will refrain from mentioning the manufactures names unless compelled to do so!

Good morning Daryl,
The black and silver car sure looks similar. is there any evidence of that Fram fuel filter? mounting holes etc. on your car?

See you at the races,
Wayne Kerr

Hello JC, the original owner of my LO23 was Dick Smith; see my post below:
