Chuck, you must have been out there same time as me. You forgot about San Fernando. We used to be able to hit 3 tracks in one weekend.
I missed Fremont too, was too far to travel back then.

Never went to San Fernando. On this side of town we had Lions, Pomona, Fontana, San Gabriel, all much easier to reach. After San Gabriel and Pomona closed, Irwindale opened and OCIR wasn't far behind.

I collected a few trophies at San Fernando. The last San Gabriel race I set the track record in A/sports. I guess that record still stands, huh.

There is one historic track I first raced at in 1967 and still race at today and that is Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green KY. Great place to race and probably the best place I've ever been to watch.

Fremont, Halfmoon Bay, and the original Irwindale. I raced at all three.

San Fernando, "the pond" as they called it, was one smokin' place to be on a Sunday. Great responses by all.

If I remember correctly, San Fernando was uphill. I remember it being slow.
But, it didn't have a light pole jus past the starting line.
