Google Earth shows the starting line as 2003 feet but that may be before any earthmoving to build the track. They didn't build it up any higher.

Some pretty stout numbersm i see the SS/AH is listed at 9.84 at altitude, so what's the new Sea Level index?

Well, for all you Cobra Jet "fans" out there, they'll be getting some HP on Monday.

Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed
4135 Brent Hajek
C1 ****WINNER**** 0.392 9.867 134.85
A/SA Index: 11.58 (+/-): -1.713

That's -1.433 under the sea level A/SA index. Even though they're running at altitude it results in an automatic hit.

For those that are curious, it corrects to a 9.627.

Brent Hajek went 9.867@134.85 in A/SA (-1.713 under the index) with a .392 light against Bill Howell (MOV: 0.699) in the first round of class & still is able to get the win! That’s getting it done! Chad Holzman went 9.962@133.67 (-1.618 under the index) right in front of him! I know this is Vegas, but where is the line for getting horsepower on Monday at a factored track?

Too bad Bill's front wheel drive turbo minivan doesn't fit the class... it'd run better than 1.71 under.

I race in Las Vegas. The static altitude is around 2,400 ft. plus or minus. But when we race what really matters as most of you know is corrected air density,. temp and humidity. I have seen air as low as 1,600 hundred feet to 5,900 feet! That really plays into how you dial your car. As far as the SS/AH index goes National Dragster latest edition shows 9.99. Today the fastest hemi can, John Raines (first round) ran 8.732 on a new 9.84. The automatic cars have had to add weight from what I have heard. As far as the new Mustangs go, I think they are awesome and a well needed shot in the arm for stock and super stock....along with the Dodge Challengers and (hopfully) Cameros. BUT THEY NEED ANOTHER CLASS! I don't think it's fair to all the development that has happened over all the years on 427 Cameros,Mopars, Fords, etc. Maybe AAA/S Just my thoughts, I started drag racing in 1960 and I am in awe of you guys that seriously race in stock and super stock. I just race an old Thunderbolt in nostalgia and brackets!! Best to you all!!

Bob you are right the cjs belong in a supercharged class by themselves, A/FX will do. If they still want to run stock give them their own index.
