Re: The Factory Experimental Cars

Need help
I and some of the Buckeye team have been looking the past 10 or more years for Sox& Martin's 66 altered wheel base injected Baracuda.
The car was raced by Buckeye and Vernon Rowley, then sold to somebody south of Maryland. Saw one picture of it under the name of HIPPY CUDA, but have no outher info.Hope the body is still alive as we would like to restore. Long shot I know but have to try.

Hi I don't know about that car but was wondering what you or anyone else might know about the 65 buckeye car like who it was sold to when they were done with it?

Pop Whitt ran the car as the Hippy Hemi. There is some talk that the car may have been rebodied as a later model by Pop. Most likely it is gone forever.

The '65 S&M sedan was found in Detroit in poor condition prior to it being restored. It is now owned by Todd Werner and is spectacular!!!

Any info as to how to contact Pop Whitt or conections if he is not still around, an if you could suggest what part of country he was from.

Thanks Charlie I was told that a guy named Mike found that 65 sox's car in a junkyard in Dearborn Mi in 1974 and sold in 1975 to a guy named Rick and Rick sold in 1986 ok so Geoff Stunkurd did a story on the restored sox' and martin car and he said Mike guffy got it from some mystery man who found it in an ally in detroit so which story is the truth:confused:

Same story from the beginning. Scroll a page or two and you will see a small photo of the Paper Tiger 2 in it's pre-restored state of decay.

http://www.moparmax.com/columns/magnante/vii_3-1.html

And here is another account that says there were TWO and the original paper thin body went to the great racetrack in the sky!
