These are all questions that need to be answered Pete

The only information I can uncover on it is that ONE race @ New York National in July of 68. And that is only in the form of a picture. I have found &, purchased every publication that had coverage of that event including the program for it. Bought a very cool videofrom that particular event , but so far no entry list of competitors.

Manhattan Speed Shop 'Dart'

"""""Raced at;
* New York National Speedway {Center Moriches, Long Island}
* West Hampton Dragstrip {Westhampton, Suffolk County, Long Island}
* Islip Dragstrip {Islip, New York}
* Englishtown {Madison Township, New Jersey}
* ATCO {Atco, New Jersey}
* Dover Drag Strip {Wingdale, New York}

It was gone by mid-late 1969"""""""""

Paul-
Can you provide some more info on your findings where this thing was raced?? I'm striking out. As you know I posted on the Dover site awhile back, but it's not known there either. I've subscribed & posted to several pages on facebook in the hopes of same, but so far no luck either.

How about approaching the local press in that area?

Local TV and newsprint sports reporters might like a story like this.

Refer them to your past restoration connection to the Dick Landy car and the print it got, the stories printed about your current ride and directly to this forum and the number of hits/history this story has generated.

Just keep wearing them out until someone gives in. Documentation and pics you have. Show them what it is and all you know about what it was (silver with a dent).

Maybe contact that TV show guy..."Chasing Classic Cars" I think it is.

He may have some area contacts that could help.

Can't hurt to ask.

Did you ever contact Bill Mitchell, driver of the Baldwin-Motion Camaro...

...formerly of World Products and (now) owner of Bill Mitchell Products?

Maybe he knows who these guy(s) were that he raced against many years ago. It's worth a shot.

As a 15 year old kid, I went down this track a couple times back in '67. My cousin (18) and I were on a trip to Montreal for the World's Fair ,Expo '67, and spent a couple nights in a campground near the track. We drove out to it and there was a gate open and no one there. We did what teenagers do. Lined it up (yellow 67 Coronet convertible) and made a few laps down the quarter mile! After a few trips we noticed a guy standing by the gate. We made a s-l-o-w exit past him and got a wave and a smile back. Thanks for the picture. Great memories from l-o-n-g ago.

Oh, it's definitely him. Here's a photo of Bill from the early 1970s and his Thunder Bug.
