Re: Super Gas Burndown
I know why Olpin takes so long to stage, he's just letting the oil in his heads run back to the pan.I opened mine up so no one has to wait on me.
I think this is what Rock was trying to say all along...or he's letting the air pressure in his tires drop down after the burnout... or he forgot to tighten his belts ...or his steering wheel fell off..... or his helmet fogged up... or he had a phone call.. or............. |

Re: Super Gas Burndown
It is amazing how many people get bent out of shape when someone plays a game on the starting line. Been racing since I was 8 (13 years), and have been cussed my fair share of times for not staging the way my opponent wanted me to. Actually, I will never go in how they want me to. If they wanna stage last, I can fix that. And if they wanna be first, I will beat them in. If you are a good racer, you can concentrate and still do well when you are burned.
But, I am gonna do whatever it takes to get you off your game on the tree. |
Re: Super Gas Burndown
Lee,
A quick note. When staging in the pro tree class it is very intense. Not like stock where everybody can pre-stage, stage and then eat a philly cheesesteak while the lights are coming down. I really haven't seen that many staging duels in that class in the last 30 years. Asta |
Re: Super Gas Burndown
Hey guys and girls, thought i'd put my two cents in on this one, Webster is on here complaining because he sometimes has a problem forgetting to turn that bottom stage light on after the other guy is in, but after what seems to be 45 seconds or so he turns it on, maybe some people just like to get that other guys finger buried on that button reaaaaaaaaaallllllllly hard, but oh well, those people seem to lose a lot more races than they win, i think this was a great thread and that is what this sight is for is our opinions. My opinion is stage your damn car and race, if you want to play games go get yourself a playstation and buy the drag racing game and hold those guys out or stage fast on them, that way your not pissing anybody off.
To everybody, happy offseason and have a great holiday season The friendly stager, sean graham |
Re: Super Gas Burndown
I?m told from good sources overseas that this spy shot is of "Mr. Ed" and his sidekick ?Webster? practicing their new middle east burnout and staging techniques for the 08 season.
Don?t say that you haven?t been warned folks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUlTsW-65JI Glad to see Mr Webster is wearing that diaper correctly. Disclaimer: Stage anyway you see fit within the rules. Just expect at minimum to have your ?Balls Busted? when you decide get creative. |

Re: Super Gas Burndown
Ruthless, which person would be Mr Ed and which would be Mr Webster they both look like they have alot of power.

Re: Super Gas Burndown
I think Webster has the turbin....

Re: Super Gas Burndown
Where is Jim Hughes in all of this? He's the one who changed his starting line formula after winning all of those races and championships and stooped to Ed's level and started playing starting line games. I demand and answer from the big guy.

Re: Super Gas Burndown
Correct ....Webster is the one wearing the diaper on his head.

I have raced Super Gas. Well, it was Super Rod in IHRA cus we couldn't afford to take Fridays off. Stock may not have its share of staging battles, but running footbrake in our area does. You may call it intense, but its just part of driving to me. I don't care what class we are running, if you decide you want to stage last... you will either go in first, or we will both go home. Im not going to say who it was against, but my father had the duel of the century when I was like 12 a US13. They got backed out of the tree twice, and the third time the opponent failed himself and went right in. I do believe he even got you once at the grove when you were in a habit of getting in first. |

Re: Super Gas Burndown
RUTHLESS You made the wife laugh so hard at your WACK JOB post that she fell off the couch. You were clearly on the short list this past season of those who made smiles happen from your first final since detroit dragways( as you put it) to your ability to have pizza delivered to the track at Martin. Big smiles!!!

Glad to make someone smile Mac, the off season is just way to long to be real serious. When I get like that, the Mrs. Know the meds are wrong and she adjusts the lithium accordingly to tune me back in. . Funny thing happened yesterday Mac. Me and the granddaughter were out doing the leaves and we live in a rural setting and low and behold who rides up on his horse, but our friend ?Websta? . So me and Mr. ?Websta? we have a little chat and he proceeded to tell me in no uncertain terms that him and Mr. Ed can stage anyway they want and when the want, and I agreed. yes you most certainly can. But IMO to get that warm and fuzzy feeling with the rest of the guys in the class you should consider ?courtesy staging? in a timely fashion and not sit 30ft back from the lights not moving like it?s your way or the highway. Mr Webster then told me where to get off and I just grinned as he rode off into the sunset pissin & moaning. So as I walked away with my granddaughter hand in hand and I hear say: "hmmmmmmmm that?s odd ?" I said: ?what did you say honey?? She said: That?s pretty odd grandpa ? I said: what?s odd? She said: Grandpa, I always thought the ?Dick? was underneath the horse? http://artfiles.art.com/images/-/Buc...C10230417.jpeg |
Re: Super Gas Burndown
Ruthless i see you found a picture of websta. But if he was riding his horse up to you and he had that big knife in his hand I would be a little skeered.
