Re: Indy Teardown Warning
As usual the only people up here complaining or throwing out accusations are the people who don't race or are no longer involved!
My heads have not been touched, no porting or whatever else goes on and the valves have been done completely within the rules and it makes pretty good power and overall is a "fast" car as far as the index goes. Maybe all you conspiracy theorist need to go back and watch some more network news and stay off Classracer....... |

Re: Indy Teardown Warning
Ok question.
Being the new unwritten policy of if you go 120 you will be torn down I know It’s Indy . But rules is rules. Ok let’s hear it. Yes. Or No |
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
Yes, if I'm causing a hit or taking a hit, I want to know it's right. Even with Indy not causing a hit, that should be the threshold. J.R.

Re: Indy Teardown Warning
So.... I come in to this game as a willing participant, knowing its going to take some work, and all I get is flamed by the "current" racers for questioning the rules? (Ran a few races and got my *** kicked.)
Thanks for the invite! "rolled eyes" "Read Newbe" I have figured out that I should have done some more homework on the class I chose ... #mybad Thanks to all of you that have encouraged me to come back out with the car, It is much appreciated! Challenge Accepted! |

I get the "newbe" thing. I get the questions. If you don't like being "flamed by the current Racers" then you might try dialing back the sarcasm just a bit (or is it just my read). Read the rules and play the game the way that you're comfortable playing the game. It's all part of the "homework". The written rules are IMHO, very vague at best. But no-where in the rules does it say that you have to cheat. Racers make that decision for themselves. |

I didn't have anything to do with the current system or rules or how they got there. I've never petitioned NHRA for anything but I do follow the rules as written so I take exception to some of the remarks being made. They are welcome to check my heads with whatever they got, digitizer or stick their finger wherever they like! But what annoys me more than the cheating comments are the guys that come up here day after day with their negative comments about what it used to be or what a waste of money it is to give NHRA my money. Like I said before if they don't like it, move on and get a life I think judging by the "likes" my last comment got about this I speak for alot of people. It's that simple! |

I have to believe those who complain the most about the NHRA getting tough again on inspections are the ones who cheat the most. |

That is such friendly, warm and accommodating stance to take, Mr. Williamson. Is the title of this thread "Indy Teardown Warning"? Wouldn't that include former racers with experience in teardown at Indy? Wouldn't that include shops that assist racers in preparing cars that go to Indy? I don't see anyone here trying to influence policy. I do see opinions, positive and negative. If someone posts opinions you personally disagree with, use the blocking function and we'll all sleep easier. |

It is a members forum and you're welcome to post your opinion but if you come up here with the same boneheaded negative responses to everything everyday don't be surprised if someone makes an objection or takes exception to some efed up accusations. Everyone that is a member can comment on any post they like but they shouldn't get their panties in a wad when someone calls out the BS. I don't recall seeing the blocking function you're talking about but you sure seem to have a problem with blocking my opinions so why don't you give it a try! |

You respond with threats, and you think the problem is with others who post here. I made no threats, I made no accusations, I asked questions. I certainly, in no way, accused you personally. Perhaps my questions triggered your aggressive attitude. What "accusations" are you referring to? What are you calling BS? Knowledge and experience might prove that what you call "accusations" are actually facts you have no understanding of. I have no problem with your opinion(s). You need not be so aggressive towards those who disagree with your opinions. That aggression happens often on forums when their is a large discrepancy in post counts such as ours. |
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
I don't see any threat, a threat would be if I said I was going to harm you or someone else which I didn't. You made a statement that in my mind only current racers should comment which I did not say. I said as usual it's the same people that come up here day after day complaining or whatever that don't race or are not involved anymore. I never said they couldn't comment I just said they need to get a life and spread their negativity somewhere else.
I'm not sure why you refer to post counts but I do have a high post count on here because I provide a service on this forum by doing live threads from all the races I attend. |

you guys are hilarious ... keep it up ken will be charging for the free entertainment.

I have seen on other forums that members with a large post count tend to relate to low count members in a disdainful manner. I think I've posted more on this thread than I ever have. Which means I don't post often, hence my low post count. Yet it seems I have "posted day after day". You're correct, I did say that you presented the attitude that only current racers should comment on this topic. Let's look at what you did say as a reply to me specifially: ".... I would add those....not involved in the sport at all should get a life and move on. It's ridiculous to see negative post one after another by the same people who don't race NHRA events.... " Can you see where someone could interpret that non-current racers need not comment. It's difficult to discern tone from the written word, I often find myself making comments with a humorous or teasing thought, that when typed out send a completely different message. I think we're not as far apart as our squabbling messages make it seem. Such is life. |
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
I should just shut my mouth and move on as suggested...(thanks for the welcome...) But, just out of curiosity. How did it go today for the first rounds of qualifying? Who is all there and how did it go?

Re: Indy Teardown Warning
So..... for the learned that were there, did any Stock heads or intakes
get scoped, did any Factory Stock heads or intakes get measured, or was it fake news to keep everybody on their toes? J.R. |

Re: Indy Teardown Warning
What happened on all this teardown warning, etc.? From what I saw, it looked like the usual number of cars taken to teardown. Didn't see any digital scanning thingy nor did I see any factory shootout cars teardown, other than a quick look at the manifold.
|
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
From what I saw Fred I was watching in the stands all weekend and it looks like they just did the regular teardown for Indy didn’t see any digital scanning thingy or nothing it could’ve been there but it was probably top-secret One thing I can tell you is it was some great class racing

Re: Indy Teardown Warning
Nothing new about these teardowns. Did the digital scan anything? And they only took apart the usual number of cars.
|
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
If you were there you would have known they tore down plenty of showdown cars. They had a separate tear down.

I must’ve been having a sandwich in the top eliminator club when they did the teardown on the factory tires sorry about that And how did you know I had a red straw hat Fred
|
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
Not factory tires factory show down cars sorry and Paul that is one stout pick up 1214 in the class final pretty stout
|
Re: Indy Teardown Warning
I'm sure this scanner talk is just a bunch of talk, just like all the other crap that gets said in the pits. I heard about bogus manifolds with bogus acceptance letters, people allowed to enter with zero grade points and how next year none of this will matter because the AHFS will be in effect for 2020. It seems more like an old lady sewing circle to me with all the BS gossip.
