The NHRA decided on a plan for the Sportsman classes - because of the bad weather coming tomorrow they are going to run to completion tonight if possible .They have had several delays already tonight ---- I'm not sure how long they can go but S/S is out on the track as I type .........

Bob Lang and the rest of the D1 staff def know how to adjust the schedule to beat the weather. Hopefully they can get the rest of the event finished tomorrow but nice to see the Sportsman racers won't have to sit thru it. Congrats to all the winners.

They finished Super Gas and Super Comp as well, ran Comp and Alcohol down to four cars each. Don't know about you, but that sure beats sitting around all day Sunday (and Monday and...).

I've never heard of this being done at a National before. Probably a good call. Perhaps NHRA will be flooded with complaints from spectators who expected to see sportsman racing tomorrow. Or not. Either way, it may be rather instructive to them.

It seems Bob Lang and his crew always do the extra work to get it done. It is tough on them to run such a long schedule but it sure pays off for the racers and others involved.

I left last night after the sportsman were done. NHRA made a good call and I was glad to see that they got all the sportsman done except for comp. I think they should have let comp run, it was cold but super comp and super gas along with all the fast super stockers were not having traction issues. NHRA felt it was not safe for comp to run.

congrats to all the winners and runners up. I left after Lenny Williams awesome Buick beat the beautiful Black Nova on the heads up F/Stock run. Saw the day from the very first passes of stock, Sorry Jack, met you before your run. Best darn car show seeing all the stockers lined up at 815 in the am after driving 3 straight hours after almost no sleep,lol.
Great day, packed house. Glad I went. Wish I dressed warmer to stick it out, it was cold standing there after a long week wrenching. They need a coffee stand.lol.

Most Sportsman Racers have to work on Monday.

This should be done in future events, time & conditions permitting.

Let's face it, most Sportsman Racers probably take off Wed., Thurs., & Fri.
for a National Event as is.

No doubt about it - they made the right call yesterday - the NHRA decided to run the Sportsman last evening to completion and today there are many , many happy campers because of that decision .Around 10:30 this morning the rains came and today sure looks like a washout as its now wet , cold and damp .A great number of racers have dumped their trailers and headed home thanks to some quick thinking on the sanctioning bodies part .I'd be very surprised if any of the Pro's will run today -------- and if they do most of us will be watching from our Lazy Boy's .

I've still got a zillion photos to sort thru from last night and will post them later in the day .........

Not sure what's going on but it stopped raining here and the NHRA has started drying procedures starting with running the Jet .Is it for 'SHOW' or will they really try to get it in ? All that and more ......stay tuned ! !

BTW , funny thing sitting here and watching racers play "musical pit spots " - they are moving their stuff off the grass and mud onto blacktop for next week's " Pennsylvania Dutch Classic " ..........And ClassRacer.com will be covering it for you .

Many were stuck this weekend ( including this reporter ) but none like our man Marc LaBrecque with his forty something foot long RV and a stacker ..............

Marc - Just so you know I'm always trying to show your best side .On the other side of the coin the NHRA really were not alot of help this weekend to both of us when stuck in the field .I got pulled out by a racer and Marc really had to beg for the backhoe service .
