Stock first round went off pretty much with the exception of the fact that the NHRA text system was not working again and the fact that I had no idea that I was one of the first three pairs .None at all so when I pulled in I was sent right to the lane and was soon to pull out without any equipment on - even after I was accused of cheating during the lane flip - really??? So it took me a few minutes to get my stuff on and the lane official even helped (thanks Bill) .My competition waited behind the water box and we went to the line together. He had a bad light and I thought it was over but while at fuel check one of his crew guys drove up and screamed about ten times that I'm a no good piece of ***** with many officials standing by - he had no idea how close he was from being ejected from the grounds. Way too much drama for me - this is supposed to be fun ……….

On to round 2.

I'll chime in since you're talking about my father. And you tried to play with my brother who is one of the most honest persons I've known. Hes full of integrity. Ask anyone in the pits. He was there before 830 waiting on you.

1.You cheated at the coin flip, you know exactly what you did.

2. NHRA officials told my father that you were personally informed Friday night you were a designated pair.

3. You got to the lanes AFTER 830 and took your sweet ol' time with your hood up and talking to people while my brother was being held up under the tower waiting for you for over 6 minutes.

4. NHRA admitted to my brother they were wrong for making him wait.

5. You have been in this sport longer than most people in the staging lanes. You are a drag racing veteran and you know how the system works. As a family that is relatively new to the national event system, you put a really bad taste in our mouth and others as well once they realize what you did.

6. Brent had an awful light. In the end he lost the race.

Other than him being there @8:30 there is not much truth in your words. And the unsportsmanlike conduct at fuel check that your team did was not the way to handle things.Yes, I'm a veteran of the sport and anyone who knows me will tell you I would never play games to get into someones head

He was sticking up for his son like any father would do. He took it easy on you. Congrats on going to round 2, you have a beautiful car.

There should be no question or conversation on Jacks character; he is a great guy and fellow sportsman and gentleman.

Everyone must also know that the first 3 pairs for first round are ALWAYS the bottom 3 qualifiers and their respective opponent and has been this way for a few years at least. No text message or announcement needed.

Good luck to all and hopefully the disagreement cools.

First round Factory Stock Showdown action, the track was tough to get dialed in, there was lots of pedaling throughout the first round. It was 90 with sun pounding on the track, tomorrow will be the same. Nice to see Don Fezell qualify with his 2008 Cobra Jet.
