Re: Hoosier Slicks & front tires
I've run radial slicks on each of my TWO MPR Super Stock Cavaliers because when I need to be as quick as I can possibly be (like running for class or in a heads-up run in eliminations), they tend to give me a few hundredths. That's the ONLY reason I ever use radials. You sound like a guy who wishes his expensive, elephant-motored bracket car was still a legitimate class car.

Got zero desire to run Super Stock and both my cars are quicker and faster than yours.

You've been down this road with too many people in the past, Ed. It leads nowhere. Discussion over.

Re: Hoosier Slicks & front tires
what part of the FACTS and the TRUTH don't you like?:p
Is it the fact that radial wobble has nothing to due brand name or air pressure and everything to due with track prep and chassis setup? Or is it the TRUTH that both my cars are quicker and faster than yours? or maybe it's the FACT that a bypass kit, two -3 lines plumbed into your regulator will do nothing except lighten your wallet. |

Re: Hoosier Slicks & front tires
Only "radial wobble" I ever had with mine was from trying to run narrow wheels, like you would a bias tire. I use 14" wide wheels on my 13" X 31" MT radials, 13 psi, never spins or wobbles. Tubeless, they don't leak.
A-B-A tested MT, GoodYear & Hoosier, same day, even with all of them dead hooking, MTs were quicker. Hoosier was quicker than Goodyear, which was the slowest. I blamed that on weight, GoodYears were/are about 5lbs per tire heavier than Hoosier. Hooked as hard as the MTs, but still slower. Most of the difference was in 60'. I don't know much, but I blamed it on weight, and maybe sidewall design. Don't know if this will help somebody, or offend somebody. Hoping for the former. |
