Re: Indy Fall Classic
First congrats to the stock and super stock winners, Mr. Fuller and Mr. McBean and to the #1 qualifier in stock, Gary Summers (nice 1.675 under : -) )
Second, thanks for all the acknowledgment and support. We didn’t quite make it to the 7s but we will keep trying to improve. There are many, many who have contributed and are the real ‘skunkworks’ who truly deserve the credit for making the Blackbird fly. They include first and foremost, my wife and best ever independent racing consultant, Sandy; Mike Roth at MR2 Performance/ JR1 Oil; Tony Bischoff and the team at BES Racing Engines; Jason Coan and Coan Racing; Dale Aldo at Mopar, the SRT Engineering team (Mike Rossey, Eric Cunningham and Ben Reedy) and Robin Lawrence and the team at Holley EFI and many more. I agree with what many believe, that these SC cars running in the Showdown should be seperate from Stock. We are very happy that’s the way NHRA has gone. We look forward to running those events, going faster and going rounds in 2018. Of course we will run a few Divisionals / Opens where we will likely qualify in stock but, as always, with no real intent to run in an eliminator I feel this car should not compete in. With the NHRA and NMCA schedules, I think we will have plenty of opportunity to compete and give it our best. Thanks again. |

is there a qualifying list for SS?

Re: Indy Fall Classic
I'm going to go a bit off topic to make a case here for supporting Regional Stock - S/S Association races. This D3 National Open race had a $100 entry for a $1,000 Winner and $500 RU purse. At the last GLSSA race that same $100 entry paid $2,100 to win and $800 RU - and we were done before it got dark.
With IHRA out of the picture the case for Regional Associations has become stronger. As you begin to make your 2018 racing plans, make the effort to support your regional Associations and keep Stock and SS racing alive and strong. |
