The record shows whose the fastest, that's why there are record books right? Has anybody been faster than 10.60s in G/SA besides Hale?

G/S lets not forget about a black nova from Calgary...Mr. Gullet can hang with the best.

as we all know, there are many fast cars in each class. Anyone that is considered the fastest knows it takes a lot to do so. A good car, great engine , hard work, and an understanding how to make them go fast. And lets not forget $$$$$$$$$$

Actually, the record book is not what shows the fastest. There is virtually no incentive to set records, and we don't have any national opens in the south to be able to turn them loose. As Mr. Parker said there are plenty fast G cars. Also, Mr. Hale didn't go 10.60's. He didn't go faster than 10.80s.

He did go .80s granted the air in Kearney wasn't bad. Don't fool yourself. It isn't anywhere near good air. You get about .17 factor but I guarantee you a good day in Houston or Belle Rose is far better then the 17 or so you get there. So his car is easily capable of 60s on a decent day. I didn't make Kearney last year. But most ran pretty close to what they did the year before when I was there. That being said I've gone .20 faster at other non factored tracks that also didn't have good air then I did at Kearney. Kearney and Vegas have the same factor and most days in the spring and fall I'd choose Vegas. Not trying to start an argument but just because it didn't put a .60 on the board doesn't mean it's not capable of running that or better in good air.

I didn't say he wasn't capable. However, the fact is that he didn't. He attempted the record at Shreveport and didn't get it. Altitude tracks effect cars differently as well. Typically a large cubic inch motor doesn't slow down as much as a small block.

Re: Fastest G/SA G/S

Well I guess feel free to make the trip sometime. We've been west and south several times over the course of the last 30 years and elapsed times don't even begin to compare. Hell the last time we went to Houston in 03 or 04 we didn't have any jets and rods rich enough to use. Our plugs went from colored to white as printer paper and we still were a tenth better then we ever ran around here. At the time Jim Hanig and the Halls were telling us it was .10-15 slower then the divisional. You're right big engines are effected differently then small can't argue with you there also can't argue about Shreveport as I don't know what it was like. But we have several cars that run regularly around here that do go all over the country and are plenty fast and a good sea level track will almost always cover the correction factor we get out here. Just sayin. But either way all your cars are plenty fast so I'm sure you're not too concerned.

I agree with you on the factor. I have been to Vegas twice and it seemed like really good air, but the factor was always very close. The air in Shreveport was pretty good.

Now Mr Hales car is fast but its a 383 at 280 HP..Not Mr Hales fault. Don't want to here about 1060 factor. track adjustment .Not the real world..
