Re: Theathers
I knew the price on these things would come down. Andrew priced the pieces out from a specialty hardware retailer and came up with $44, buying everything retail one at a time. NHRA now needs to let us buy our own pieces like we do with any other part that's not a Sfi part.

Re: Theathers
So the $80 weld on NHRA approved tether has tabs and a stainless steel braided string in between them.
Somebody want to explain to me how that is better than welded on tabs with bolts or springs between the tabs that is no longer NHRA legal? I thought the whole problem was tabs that break! Obviously it's not about safety. |
Re: Theathers
It is about safety. These are backups to the tabs breaking, bolts breaking, etc so it don't hit the rear tire and get slingshoted into the crowd, blow the tire and slingshot the car, and stuff like that. It is not supposed to replace the tabs, springs etc. And most of us have seen the things fly off. Easy off, easy on like the freeway. It's not as easy as it is to get the cap off of a beer bottle, or the tab off of a can, but almost. A little thether humor there.
