Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
Ed's car would need to weigh only 5742lbs to make that 11lb break.....LOL
Might be hard on driveline parts at that weight Ed.... |
Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
Rich, as you know, my car was built to and ran GT/AA as well it ran GT/DA and HA IIRC and I have been offered engines to run in both AA and HA.;)

Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
ED seems to be the one who needs to get over himself, if anyone can pull up an old post that indicates me giving advice on a subject I'm not well versed on I'll remove myself from any further topics of conversation. His statement would be akin to saying a full grown adult can out run a 2 year old. Or my F-350 can out pull your S-10 pick up, what pompus self centered dribble. You sir are not a very good representative of bracket racers, my son is a very good bracket racer he's won track championships more races than I can count, but he doesn't have the knowledge to advise someone on their class car setup. Hope some day he can but for now he does what he's best at, winning rounds and smiling. So let me know how it goes at 5700 plus lbs.Joe

Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
that is your opinion which is meaningless to me as well the op's question. Further, your claims of your son's bracket racing accomplishments have no place into this discussion.
That said, allow me to extent my personal invitation to you and your son to line up with me 1st round at the WFC on 7/13/2012 at Bristol Dragway.;) :p |
Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
Sooooo get your borrowed AA or HA engine and have at it big boy, talks cheap. I"m awaiting your posts of fame and glory, as well as running 1.20 under.Keep me posted. Joe

Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
Go with GT/DAor lower Ed.....
A nice small block...... Some 400's are popular as well as some old 327 combos. If you really want to be bold go with an LT-1......Same engine as Larry's 2 cars but built to SS specs....They are very fast. Still get to use a 3 speed....use a trans brake.....keep your big wheelies and run in the 9's.... Buy a motorhome......and a spare everything.... Spend your kids inheritance money up before they can.....Haha... |
Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
right and be treated like sh.t by the NHRA, race for peanuts and beg contingency sponsors for $. No thanks I'll pass.
Bracket racing pays far better and is far more fun. In 3 years I'm buying a stacker and building Kyle a top shelf piperack. |
Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
I've GOT IT !!!!
Im gonna run a litre of 10 30 Amsoil, a litre of 20 50 Mobil 1, a litre of 10 30 Valvoline racing oil, a litre of 0 weight Royal Purple, a litre of some old Red Line, heck, a litre of good old Castrol GTX 20 50, a bottle of Lucas supplement, and of course, a litre of Joe Gibbs 0 30. ( good thing I have the larger capacity, so I can get all these products n there ) THEN, I ll make more power than ANYBODY... and in that bracket race, I ll kick your azzes ! ! ! |
Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
well almost.;)
What no love for Brad Penn? :D |
Re: Recommended Engine Oil ?
Not claims just fact, to indicate that not all bracket racers are know it alls that offer advice or input on something they have no experience with.So please remove foot from mouth, put in your buddies borrowed engine and let your accomplishments become the subject of tales long told. Perhaps you weren't instructed as a child as I was and I passed on to my children.... if you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut and your ears open.... you might just learn something. I have no need to try to impress anyone on here, I've raced, ran fairly fast and have offered help to any racer that's asked me, if I felt I had the ability to do so. I DO NOT profess to know it all and would be a liar if I stated so. I would like to believe I've earned the respect of at least a few of my peers, though it's not required. Joe
