I didnt see anyone having traction issues. I went 1.24 60ft every pass on 9" tires in SS. As Larry Hill said, maybe it was the Goodyears?

Racer #1... Man, I broke my tranny. Can you kill some of that starting line bite?
My response... "Try putting more air in your tires"

Racer #2... It ain't nuthing nice when fillings fall out of my teeth. Do you have to have all of that glue on the starting line? You know, not every racer runs stock or super stock!
My response... "You ever considered using a 9-inch tire on that top dragster?"

Racer # 3... I came down so hard that my steering broke. We ain't used to running on a track like this.
My response... "Guess you need to race here more often so you'd get used to racing on a track like this."

Internet... "The starting line was horrible."
My response... "Some people know how to make their cars leave. Some cars struggle until the driver finds out later that something on their cars was broken. When 99 out of 103 stockers are pulling the front tires to the clouds, what does that say about the 4 who don't? Tires? Shocks? Converter? Transmission? Ring Gear? Engine? Weight? RPM's? "

1.240 60-foot in SS/HA ain't to shabby for a 9-inch tire. Cooter got it going on. That kid can hook up at a car wash. :)

Enjoyed seeing y'all this past week. Congrats to the winners, and thanks for your support. Now, off to shower, shave, and sleep.

I want to say thank you to Pat and all the staff at no problem. The starting line was great all weekend. The hospitality at the track was great. Thanks to Jeff and the Teuton gang for letting us use a brand new dodge pick up to run around that night. Steve kent and the garrisons for the food. You can't put a price on a good time lets all have fun. Also thanks to Larry and Patsy Hill for pictures and live reports. Hope to see more people next year. Jegs puts these races on for the sportsman and Iam glad they do.

Have a great season
Paul

Whatever y'all do Pat, keep it going cause I love the place! As for a high hp car, my dragster varied 1 thousandth the entire weekend in 60 ft, with no problems at all. I will say that at 7 cars in stock, I think my shift light came on before the wheels were on the ground!! Not bad for an F car! Also, Szupka still hooked in the final of Comp in that small tire roadster with high hp.

As usual, Pat and his staff did an excellent job. Even class pairing seemed to be a little less hectic than the year before. Tip of my hat to everyone, except what seemed like an eternity to run top dragster and comp on Friday and Saturday. Not anyone in particulars fault on that one.

Re: Live from Jegs Cajun Sportsnationals-Belle Rose

We had a great time at Belle Rose as usual! Mother Nature was a factor. Some bits from the pits and our trip.
Our Nova enjoyed some great traction, but the headwind was brutal! Sunday was a different story with a tailwind!
I know there was a V10 car that set the record in pretty slow conditions. It was 1.25 under! Normal Belle Rose weather would have probably put it a couple tenths quicker!

We always come down to visit our racin buddies, Dave Crouchet and Mike Mayronne, Dave shows off his trackside culinary skills here.

Belle Rose is the only race I gain weight at!
Mike Mayronne showed us his soon to be returning 69 Z28 stocker! For you youngsters, yes 69 Z28s are Stick Only! (google it)

Other notes:
On test and tune, we needed to get some mods done to our traction bars. Jimmy Hidalgo opened his shop to us and let us use anything we needed to get going!

Kenny Bomar broke a mainshaft in his CC/S 69 Camaro. Charley Downing let Kenny borrow his spare and fresh Jerico to race this weekend! Kenny said he had his best et ever with it! Nice act of sportsmanship from Charley and Downing Racing for sure!

The weather on the way home was not great and some of the raod conditions were bad! We drove by Gateway near St.Louis. It was snow covered. Last year when I drove by the same weekend, they were racing!

We got to the KY state line and then the snow storm hit. We are less than 50 miles from home and had to slow down due to poor driving conditions. We turn the news on this morning and the weather report its 29* F, TWENTY-NINE DEGRES AND NO ANTI-FREEZE IN THE PIPES. I got out of bed quicker than a child on Christmas morning, dressed, unhooked trailer, and backed the motor home in the shop. All this was done before 7:30 am and without the benefit of coffee.

To those folks who may take the I-55, I-155, US 51 route, I would like to recommend a small family owned breakfast/ meat and three place in Troy, Tn. Autry's Home Cooking. It is just across the street from the Shell station. Nothing fancy just good food and Sweet tea. Parking is ok.

i think everyone will agree on that last part. And the starting line was even great on thursday, my best 60' ever before it bent some valves.
