I have a 2003 Dodge Crew Car Cummins and a 2004 turbo PT Cruiser, drive them both equally just depends on my mood.

The trucks gets 21mpg empty on the road and 15 mpg towing a 28 foot trailer with a 1958 Pontiac it it and the Cruiser is just plain fun to drive....Quickly!

Re: Your Daily Driver

Mine is a 2002 F350 CC LB Lariat 4x4 7.3 Power Stroke. 130,000 miles on the clock. 4" exhaust, DP Tuner (60hp econo,60hp tow, 140hp race) CAI, boost fooler, foil delete, fuel bowl mods and some other things. It gets about 22mpg and will haul or tow anything I can hook to it.

I just bought the wife a 2012 Edge Sport with the 3.7 305hp V6 AWD. Pretty sweet ride and thanks to Jesse Kershaw for hooking me up with a Ford Racing "R" plan for a nice discount. I'm really wanting to put a tuner on this and a ProCharger or something but the wife isn't having it LOL.

All Fords here except the wifes old car which is a 97 Pontiac GTP 3.8 SuperCharged with exhaust and a smaller pulley. Don't have pics of it.

What is your daily driver? The car or truck you drive most of the time. I know many of us have more than one car and you can list them all, but I would like to know what you drive the most. Show pictures if you can. For members uploading as attachments I have increase the size to 800x600.

I just purchase a new car, I was tired of driving a old car and have not bought a new car in a long time. I put about 20,000 miles year and wanted something fun to drive, decent mpg and utility. Because of my connection with Ford Racing I was able to get a good price on a Ford, so that's what I went with. Now I know some of you guys are laughing at my choice, but the car works for me.

Any other thoughts about your dd or any of your street cars, please feel free to talk about them.

2013 Focus ST, 252hp and its a blast to drive.

The future of high performance street cars. Cool little car and I'm sure a lot of fun.

I sort of have my choice between beauty, brute and brutus.

Beauty is a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, white gold, 5.7 hemi. This is the wife's ride, so I get to use it only under special conditions.

Brute is a 2007 Jeep SRT 6.1 hemi. Who cares about the oxymoron, fuel economy. It's fun to drive.

Brutus is a 2003 Dodge 3500 Quad cab dually. It pulls the trailer in grand style with the Banks six gun. That's about 400 hp and 800 ft-lbs of torque.

2004 Corvette which I'm going to put a converter in this winter and run IHRA Pure Stock with next year.

2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 6.1 420hp (wife's car) although it sits in the garage covered up next to the C5 and rarely gets driven anymore.

2001 GMC SLE Sierra 4.8L 2WD.

She drives the truck daily and I carpool with a buddy and pay for the gas in his 35+mpg Hyundai (MUCH cheaper than paying for gas and driving anything that we own). We plan to tow with the Sierra next year as well.

these are my daily drivers, other then the freightliner. the 93 Nissan 300zx has 38,000 original miles, but since i got it i have drove the wheels off it. anyway, i am currently replacing the water pump. (not so easy a job on this nightmare) while i was at it i decided to fix the bumper too. (from the curb incident the first time the wife drove it). i use the van a lot also. just wanted you to see the sticker in the rear window.lol

Mark, do you know anyone who still does "converters" for Dualrange Hydros?
I'm building a 324 Olds for my '49 Ford and want to keep the Hydro.

Mark Yacavone 12-16-2012 03:22 PM

Re: Your Daily Driver

Tom, I haven't researched any of that stuff yet.
Mine works okay for now.
If the Hydro craps out , I'll probably change the engine to a 400 anyway..
Can't bolt a 350 C or 200 4 R to the early engine.. I'm sure I can build one of those for a lot less than than the Hydramatic.
After you get used to the modern transmissions , the old ones aren't that much fun..in my opinion.

I'll take your challenge. The truck I got off craigslist for $300.00, had to fix some minor problems before it would run, minimal rust. The cougar I got from another racer as a parts car for $200.00 & drove it out from under a tree,LOTS of rust. Has run 13.80's.

Carrys my Lance Camper...with my trailer out back...like they are not there...
Gets 20 MPG on the highway if I drive mellow....and am not towing...
and will definately go thru any snow we might get

and since work is only 7 miles away who cares what the mileage is....

and is Victory Red.....the same Color as Jack Matyas and Reggie Jacksons COPO Camaros.....LOL

PS....Reggie is the one who paid $140 grand last week for one from what I read on this site.....So I don't know if that is true.....or not...You know how the internet is!!!

98 Mirage with a 1.5/5speed, 4dr, maroon with peeling clear coat
and assorted dings and dents
still gets great mileage
I put real tall tires on the front, so i can run fast on the highway, without spinning the motor too much.
I have been able to slip the clutch for a year now, but if I go easy its fine.
It doesn't make enough power to burn it up!
It may be up for sale soon:)
