I think it might be an effort to equalize the rules between the FWD conversions and the RWD SS/GT cars.
Adger, Any updates in the 2024 rules reference the front end rules for SS/GT Cars ? Looking at a SS/FGTD build

No change in the 2024 rulebook. See the link below in the Suspension Front paragraph at the end of it.
