Re: If you are considering a new pick up
I wish I could go back in time and buy another '95 F-150 Flareside. To me, it is the best new anything we have ever bought. 202k miles, tows my car just fine, and just goes. John Kissel K242

Re: If you are considering a new pick up
Had a 2017 2500HD Duramax, fantastic fuel mileage, about 25 to the gallon unloaded, over 15mpg towing 12k. Awesome truck, but just ain't worth the $66k price tag. Sold it and still tow with my 2001 2500 with a 6 liter. Will keep using it till the frame rusts in half! And that time is coming soon,

Re: If you are considering a new pick up
WE LOVE the New Rams!
Currently our family owns: 2019 Ram 3500 Dually 4WD 2019 Ram 2500 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 2018 Ram 2500 4WD In my son's trailer dealership they all tow most every day..... I should probably sell one of them as we only have two drivers anymore! |
Re: If you are considering a new pick up
Had to bring a car in for warranty work and all Enterprise had was a Ram 4 door pick-up.
I was amazed at the ride, the fuel mileage and the interior was very nice as well. |
Re: If you are considering a new pick up
Ram is two steps ahead of Ford and GM.
If Nissan had any deals, I would be very tempted! |
Re: If you are considering a new pick up
Buy the Ram and keep my retirement coming.

We did buy a Ram 2500 4wd a few months after driving the rental. I was very impressed with the Ram and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Not so much for the Toyota or the Jeep Compass we drove. The one Nissan was ok but not loaded out with all the bells and whistles. The Toyota was by far the worst with the electronic power steering and it wandered all over the road on the highway driving and it only had a few thousand miles on it. Re: If you are considering a new pick up
Great opinions here and yes all the big 3 make very impressive trucks. Power units are all up to snuff. I guess it comes down to looks and comfort for the individual. I have found the GM a little easier to work on over the Ford and Dodge. I cant let someone work on my stuff when its out of warranty so this is a big deal for me.

Re: If you are considering a new pick up
Already chipped in on fondness for my 2006 2500 with 5.9 Cummins but perhaps this might help someone. I rented a 2019 Ford F250 FX4 6.2 gas for the 5,000 mile round trip to pick up my race car using my open Featherlight trailer. Was actually impressed, averaged 13.5 mpg, plenty of power and comfortably cruised at 70 mph. Four years ago I rented the Nissan Titan with the big V8 in order to go pick up a motorcycle in LA (a very gracious shop tour of Jeff’s shop by Kevin Helms was a big bonus). Would never consider that, auto trans always hunting for lower gear and much poorer ride than the Ford.
