VIN does NOT have to be correct for years as long
as appearance is correct for the year.

I can understand it slipping by as a 2010 at a divisional. (Probably not in Div. 1)
Seems funny that the owner doesn't know what year to claim.
Too bad the expert at all things Drag Pak has retired, and not commented. ;-)

2013
2010

possibly a 3 written down but appears to be a 0 by an NHRA person ??

First off, thanks to everyone for the interest in the car. Second, everything conforms to the 2011 6.4 392 380/402 classification. Simply a typo I have since corrected is the year on my NHRA racer profile and tech card printout. The car is a factory built DragPak but we don’t run it as such.

Haven't seen the car but it should have the production 2011 hood, not the DP correct ?

I would think there would be more than the hood on a DP (factory race car with no VIN),compared to an SRT (street car) which it's being run as.The SRT's are heavy, how much ballast is being run to make the class with a DP body/chassis.The way things are now it may be ok,but it don't seem right. gsa612

I'm not sure it is a DP hood. Looks like a 2011 R/T hood scoop with Hemi 392 stickers from the grainy still shot of drag racer tv video I saw. But it does look like the same R/T hood and grille from when it was pictured running SS/FA previously, except HEMI 392 decals not present in pic of SS/FA trim.

Re: A/SA 2010 Dodge?

I looked into building a 2010 5.7 for what I believe would be J/SA. I asked what rules I use. The stock production specs or a Drag pack spec. Just like the Copo specs and a Normal production car specs. First thing is that Both cars engine location is different. At that time they had no answer and no idea of the difference but soon as I mentioned the Copo deal when they showed up at Indy flying. The factory race car specs are fine now. Go figure!.

My real question at the time was the rear axle. To build a Challenger you have to basically go through some serious changes to run one in stock. No budget stocker here. I asked them why can't I if i want run a V6 with the stock rearend since there is a replacement ford 9" pumpkin available and use all the stock axles and stuff. I guess that won't fly since i never heard back. The car is still sitting in my shop resting.

Ok, when we ran the car in Brainerd last year in SS/FA, that was the first race out with it. No decals, nothing. It was almost a year long build starting in November ‘17. As it was a factory built DragPak, it came with the DP hood and RT badge on the grille...hence the RT stripes now on the sides. As we are not running it as a DP, there is a factory hood on the car.

What am I missing here?? Am I that out of the loop. I thought Stock Eliminator cars needed to have a V.I.N.

Drag paks, cobra jets and copos don't have V.I.N.'s right.

Just so you know, I have been a part of the stock super stock combo races at Pacific Raceways for the past few years. I may not race myself, but am around the cars a lot and know most of the guys and gals very well.

No, they don't .Lots of cars around with no VINs .Olds Cutlasses from the 80's come to mind.
What they needed to be was showroom available to the general public..up until about 10 years ago. NHRA then saw fit to allow A/FX cars into Stock Eliminator.
Were deals made ? Were palms greased? Probably just another kook conspiracy theory ;-)
