Re: Metric 200 question

We do run a brace, and haven't had a problem in 3 years.

This is kind of off topic but still a metric question. Has anyone ever broke a rear end gear set and as a result hurt the transmission, specifically a metric 200?

Re: Metric 200 question

Turbo Action also has a bellhousing for Metric 200. Check with them.

Common problem not only related to TH200's. Anytime you tear a ring & pinion out, it's a good idea to drop the pan on the trans at the same time. Banging from the rear end often causes roller clutch (sprag) failure.

Re: Metric 200 question

Would think cracking the bell is caused by stress from chassis flex.
There is ET in a stiff chassis. :D

Where/when will you notice the failure? I put new gears in the car just so I can move it. I started the car up and just went forward and reverse to put it in the garage and nothing seemed out of whack. Ill definitely drop the pan, would I feel a difference in higher gears?
