Mark,

as with all race parts, the experience of development is a vital piece. I talked with Deano and while most of us can easily disassemble, clean, rejet, reassemble any carb the experience of knowing what to modify and how to modify is the key.

Dean has years of experience in developing his craft and also a large pool of racer customers and feedback.

He mentioned modifications to the booster cluster and how he selects tops, bowls, and throttle bodies for the most advantage, plus other setup/adjustments.

Consider that the web site Jmark has where many pages of text and photos explain all the in's and out's of the Holley design. If a fellow desires he can successfully race prep a Holley with help from folks on that site.

To my knowledge, there is no such information pool for the 4GC.

Dean has done the development, paid his dues, and his customers gain the benefit of his development.

So, in the case of the 4 GC, much time and frustration can be eliminated by paying Dean for his knowledge.

No doubt, Larry.
Makes sense to me.
Others may be looking for that ol' personal satisfaction thing still ,though.
Then of course ,there's that budget limitation for some, too.
