Re: True Horsepower Classes in NHRA
These figures in my previous post are for true Stock Eliminatior engines. A Super Stock motor may be worth another 75 or so if it is maxed out.

Re: True Horsepower Classes in NHRA
Thanks. Was evaluating the motor for GT/AA versus older stuff. Bet it would be better as hp rating is newer.

No I didn't. The funny thing about it is??????

Re: True Horsepower Classes in NHRA
Dick, what's funny are the (real) hp numbers of the new cars. My guess is the "reported" Dyno numbers on the new car combos are soft. When you have a NA 350 COPO running mid Nines in junk air ....You don't need a Dyno to see it's making a bunch of power !

Re: True Horsepower Classes in NHRA
And guys keep purchasing the "hot" combo that lasts a few years while the factory creates a newer "Hotter" combo available next year. ( Kind of like the 60s again)
As long as buyers continue to be stepping up and NHRA sees entry at the gate the problems with the "guess-timated" HP figures continue in Stock and SS whatever the class is called they run. |
