TIME MANAGEMENT Friday will be the longest day, just because it'll take more time to handle pairings and cooldown time for Class Eliminations, etc. On Saturday, with 350 cars, we should be done with qualifying by 2:30pm. Not everyone will get in the optional Combo race, but even if you had 100% participation, we should be done by 8:30pm. Sunday, we go straight into eliminations. Even with 400 cars, we should be done at 5:30pm. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP - When you go through tech, you will be issued a colored run decal to be placed on the driver's side base of the windshield. During Q1 on Friday and Q3-Q4 on Saturday, we will call you to the lanes by class and color of the run sticker: i.e., "Stock RED" or "Stock BLUE". This will alleviate having 200 cars in the lanes all at the same time. Please listen for you class call, and come when you are called. The Track Radio station is 88.3FM. We will huddle with Redman and Nitro Joe and determine the run order for Class Eliminations and announce that when we have it ready. When the schedule says, "Qualifying 9AM", that means we're doing burnouts at 9AM sharp. (Set your "Stocker Alarms" :p and we'll make the first call to the lanes at 8:40-8:45, so we're ready to rock n' roll.) On Sunday, Racers for Christ Chapel Service is at 8:30 am. At 9am, those of you on the first page of the ladder get'em ready and to the lanes for pairings ASAP so we're ready to turn tires for first round of eliminations in the Main Event at 9:30am sharp. |
Re: Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals Q&A
I have a request for Class Eliminations. Ever since we have been running class off of a ladder, at National events if 2 cars come up that are to run each other, they go ahead and run them. I think it is lots more interesting and fun to watch to run all 10 C/SA cars together! Right now there may be 1 pair of B/SA, 1 of A/SA, then K/SA. I am sure it is harder to get everyone in class up there at the same time, but it sure would make it better for watching.
Thanks, Patsy |
Re: Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals Q&A
Refer to above post: "Come when you're called." Problem solved. Again, we'll figure out the run order and let everyone know in advance so you can plan accordingly. (ie., Redman doesn't want all the stick classes running back to back. His track, his prep. We will work the classes based on his recommendations in order to keep the track surface in optimal condition)

Re: Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals Q&A
Q: Will Gold Cards be honored?
A: NHRA/IHRA Gold Cards will be honored for the $260 Weekend Entry. (Not eligible for Crew or the optional S/SS Combo Warmup on Saturday) |
Re: Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals Q&A
one of the main things we are going to do when we pair cars up is put them nose to tail in the lanes, this way you can do your lane choice when your up in the lanes and not back when we are getting cars paired up back of the lanes. I'm going to try to have each lane set up for each class we call up and use the cross walk to break the classes up if have to.

They do have permanent restroom facilities under/beside the main grandstands. The men's room is on the back side of the concession stand. At some of the bigger events, Pizza Cottage operates a concession trailer with pizza and the best Italian grinders! I'll touch base with them and make sure they'll be there.
