Thats the problem with 1320go.com, it's $149 a year to have total access. At $20 a year I think they'd have a winner

I've bought 90% of my misc. parts from Summit. And that includes stuff for my street cars. Believe their pricing and service is second to none but if they withdraw sponsorship from DRC then I'll definitely take my business elsewhere. Not sour grapes, just facts.

So because a company is "second to none", sponsors tons of stuff, and gave you years and years and years of live race reporting from multiple series all over North America for free, you wouldn't buy from them anymore??? Funny way of saying thanks, IMO.

I'll be placing another Summit order soon, most of which will be taken care of by Summit gift certificates won at sponsored events.

I already gave them thousands as a way of expressing my gratitude, if they make a marketing decision that I'm unhappy with I fully intend to tell them that. I consider DRC one element of the total service package that they provide and if they choose to decrease their service then I simply will seek to support others based on their total service package, including sponsorship of programs that I identify with. I wonder what the Greg Anderson sponsorship package costs compared to their programs supporting bracket racing and others plus DRC? I'd hazard a guess there is no comparison. So yes, as a consumer I can voice my opinion with my wallet, just like I do on any goods or services.

I find it very hard to believe that the site will be closing.I could definitely see cutbacks like no more live reporters, but the information is valuable and somebody else will come along and do the same thing if they bail out.

With the quality of video on the internet today, there also is a huge market for each track to have a webcam and cover the events also, very similar to what the Las Vegas track does.

Advertising should easily be able to cover the expenses, but if it doesn't,I am sure most people would be comfortable with paying a "reasonable" fee to get the information or watch the events on the internet.

I just bought the CHROMECAST device that makes it pretty cool to watch the internet on your television.

Jim Carter and Michael Beard have made excellent points . If a company, as supportive of sportsman racing as Summit has been, rises to their level or greater, most racers will be all for it. The competition benefits the racer.
To expect any particular company to always provide every service it has provided in the past may be asking too much. Hopefully Summit will be able to continue this service. I have always been pleased with their response to my contacts and purchases.

Re: Drag Race Central closing???

DragRaceCentral reporters will continue to be at all NHRA National events and right now will be doing qualifying and elimination reports at the end of each day of Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events.

We are currently seeking additional sponsorship to have reporters at each Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.

Summit Racing Equipment has been our primary sponsor for the past 15 years and will continue in that capacity for at least one more season. They have also been strong supporters of Sportsman racing for as long as I can remember (and in my case, that's a really, really long time) and I expect that support will continue way into the future, regardless of what happens with DragRaceCentral.
