Re: Ford Maverick combo
1972 was the year the factories changed the way hp was figured. on the up side 71 and 72 comet are the same visually.

Re: Ford Maverick combo
does this mean i could run the car as a 72 with the 71 block and heads or would i need a 72 engine ?
|
Re: Ford Maverick combo
Just check the engine specs on www.nhraracer.com. It will tell you what heads, carb, and intake, as well as piston and cam specs.

thank you

Re: Ford Maverick combo
rule book states that you have to run the same year block or use an "approved' block. kinda depends on how close you follow the rules. :)

Re: Ford Maverick combo
Must be same year and make as car used, aftermarket NHRA- accepted cylinder blocks permitted. section 10a page 3 in the stock section.

Re: Ford Maverick combo
The 71 & 72 302's have the same block, heads, cam, and intake.
The numbers on the carbs are different. |
