Re: Wanting to get into Stock Eliminator...
I see you are in the Winter Strawberry Capitol of the World. Kevin and Scott Helms' mother, Pat Comstock, is a realtor in PC. Also, Brenda and I live in PC. However, none of us are Mopar people...well I guess Keven and Scott have gone to the "Not So Light Side" (ie. the Dark Side). Jeff really is a bad influence...
Buying a complete car is definitely the way to go. If you plan to build do the body first. Then start at the rear end and move forward, with a good engine being the last part. Pay mone for good parts the first time and you will not have to buy parts 2-3 times. |
Re: Wanting to get into Stock Eliminator...

Re: Wanting to get into Stock Eliminator...
Your car can run a high compression avs 340 only. Depending on what your budget is, it is a good combo as long as your running a nine inch tire on your car still. My 68 dart GTS is one of the slower ones out there and will go 1 second under plus.

I have spent it building them myself and I have several in this group. The latter half is where the bang for the buck is. |
Re: Wanting to get into Stock Eliminator...
Yes Paul, I've seen some of the cars you own that were posted in some of the other threads here that people took at the tracks...so if you had one to pick out of the bunch above, which one would you build or buy.

Re: Wanting to get into Stock Eliminator...
The 1962 plymouth 383 343 hp savoy i just finished, but there are a lot of good combos in that group. The body alone is prohibitively expensive to buy and restore before you even get to the drivetrain which makes these a less than attractive entry level stocker not to mention the new cars being more attractive to many newcomers over these old antiquated rides.
