In my opinion you need to do what every gives you the most enjoyment, that is what this is all about.

Looking good (the car) is a reflection of the total build. If the car is well painted and neat that same quality carries through all other aspacts usually. Plus sponsors WILL NOT even look at a car that does not present well or represent that sponsors image to their customers....If you want sponsor help=make it look good. Plus if the car looks shabby the spectators usually dont give it a second glance....

Stock eliminator "the fastest car show on wheels!!"

BTW: My current car is track ready & chassis dynoed but not gonna take it out til its completely repainted and frame off restored....

Ever drive an old beater around town and then redo the interior and then the paint? I have and would bet everybody else has too. Me, personally, I find that once it starts looking nice, I start treating it nice. And that may mean I don't beat on it so hard or it may mean I'm suddenly motivated to take it to the next level, whatever that may be.
I like the look of your Rally 350 Olds. Stay on that path with whatever venture your looking at!

I was testing when I first assembled my Dart Stocker and the announcer commented
he did not know what color it was! LOL I decided that it would not run again without
a coat of primer. You can spot coat with sandable spray cans while doing body work unill you get done and look ok with that rat rod look. Good Luck
